Durham / puzzle why probate 12 years after death

can anyone tell me why a probate would be 12 years after death this is what i have so far
my g g grandad william taylor born 1825 essex died 1858 bishop auckland primrose hill
death certificate 16th may 1858 primrose hill william taylor age 34 accidentally run over by railway engine on the wear valley both arms broken lived 25 days so accident happened aprill 21st 
 
darlington newspaper aprill 1858 a man had his hand cut off on railway a man named william taylor who was lying drunk on the line between witton park and auckland was run over by no 12 engine and had hand cut off
taylor is a married man with a family of5 children surely this narrow escape will prove a warning not only to taylor but to all who like him indulge themselves with the bottle
the article in this paper was before he died  I am wondering if anything was in news paper after death

probate 19th august 1870 died 16th may 1858 william taylor late of primrose hill bishop auckland
cinder drawer deceased were granted to mary smith wife of david smith formerly taylor widow of bishop auckland the relict of the said deceased    (i have mary taylor nee topping  marriage cert she  married david smith march1861)

I have purchased a copy of the marriage 18th november 1789 melsonby yorkshire by licence
john layton to ann wilkinson but I have tried locating the marriage bond from
north yorkshire archives they told me leeds archives would have this ,leeds told me north yorkshire would have this so Im not sure where else I can try

I am looking for the death of my gggggranma elizabeth rundle born abt 1765 late white nee jago
in 1795 elizabeth jago married george white (he died 1801)they had a son george white 1801 pelynt
elizabeth then remarried as a widow to daniel rundle (he died 1827 pelynt )
they had 3 children
daniel rundle born duloe
samuel rundle born duloe (my ggggrandad)
william rundle 1810 duloe
1841 census I think this could be elizabeth rundle age 75 living at trelawny mansion civil parish pelynt  on the same page there is george white aged about 35 could be her first son,a burial I have noticed lanliverey elizabeth rundle 15/nov/1843 milltown age 81
could this be her I would like to order the death certificate but there are so many elizabeth rundle deaths

Can anyone please help I am trying to find one of my great grandad john harry rundle (collins)  sisters she was agnes rachel rundle born 1870 pelynt baptised 1877 pelynt she is with her parents john rundle and mary rundle(collins) in 1871 1881 1891 I have tried to find her in 1901 census ,there is a marriage 1893 liskeard to a thomas price or a joseph williams but Im not sure who she married ,I have tried 1901 census by putting agnes price and agnes williams , but found nothing

Hi I am wondering if anyone can help me please on a john bates born about1822 durham england he was a tailor and married hannah atkinson in 1844 bishop auckland durham ,I have found him in 1880 census living in reedsburg sauk wisconsin usa it states he was a tailor and is divorced , I cannot find him in england census after 1841 ,in 1841 he was living in bishop auckland durham with his father john bates born 1796 byers green ,so maybe he emigrated to usa after 1845

 ??? Hi ,wondering if anyone can help solve a puzzle my gggrandad thomas bates born 1830 sunderland durham a printer and photographer  and his wife hannah bates nee denning born northallerton lived in bishop auckland durham from 1840  to1900
yet born in 1860 they have a child called emily gomer bates according to census born gosport isle of white hampshire her birth and baptism is reg in durham bishop auckland
Is there such a place called gomer  in hampshire and could that be  the reason for her middle name gomer

Hi can anyone please help me locate a marriage for a joseph topping born 1783 wigton and a elizabeth ? born 1786 westmorland around about 1800 to 1815 I have there childrens baptisms in wigton I think the first child was eleanor topping 1815 wigton I have searched  for this marriage for 3 years now
In 1861 census in wigton I have josephs wife elizabeth topping a barbers widow born 1786 (harkeet )westmorland  living with a thomas shannon age 77 and a hannah bell age 55 so hoping they maybe married westmorland because a def no in wigton
