Carmarthenshire / Mystery of Orkney's 'bluejacket boy'
« on: Thursday 24 October 13 12:53 BST (UK)  »
Posting this to see if anyone can help solve a mystery of a letter,    (The search is on for the author of a letter penned nearly one hundred years ago. Composed by a sailor based in Orkney during the First World War, it was discovered in an old chimney in a house in Bridge Street in Kirkwall in 1980. The letter was recently handed in to the Orkney Library and Archive and staff there would now like to find out more about the author and his family. It was to be sent to an address in South Wales and the author signed himself as 'your bluejacket boy'. You can find out more on the Orkney Library and Archives 'Get Dusty' blog page http://orkneyarchive.blogspot.co.uk/  , where any suggestions on how to find the family would be more than welcome.)

Photo's of the Letter are are here
