Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Coventry Marriage look up please
« on: Tuesday 29 November 05 14:07 GMT (UK)  »
Hi not sure if this is the right board.

I would be grateful if any one could look the following marriage up for me next time they visit the local archive's.

 June 1928 Coventry
Vol 6d Page 1621
sorry I don't know the church / registry office.

I'm hoping this will show Thomas Joseph Hughes as the father of Ethel Hughes to Thomas Baggott.  If so I can then try to get a copy for my records.

Thanks

Staffordshire / UKBMD site???
« on: Wednesday 26 October 05 18:48 BST (UK)  »
Can any one help me with this site.

I have used the various sites and find them very helpful.
However I am unable to find a site that lists or covers the Dudley / Brierley Hill / Stourbridge. areas mainly covered under either worcestershire and or Staffordshire.

The West Midland site only lists Sandwell & Walsall.
Staffordshire seems to cover the modern day areas ie Lichfield, Newcastle etc am I missing somthing or is just that these areas are not covered????

thanks

Staffordshire / Can you help please Thomas Hughes & Susannah Cockbill
« on: Wednesday 31 August 05 12:44 BST (UK)  »
Hi
Can any one out there help to trace my husbands family.
I have been searching for months and getting nowhere.

Thomas Joseph Hughes shown on the 1901 census as born in Oldbury abt 1884. He was living at No 16 Titford Road when he married Susannah Cockbill from No 79. I have been fortunate with Susannah family but not Thomas.
I cannot find him on the 1891 census & cannot locate a birth record for him.
His father is listed as Thomas Crumpton not Hughes on the marriage certificate but I can find o record of a Thomas Crumpton born 1884 and the witnesses are all from Susannah's family.

I do know they had at least three children Ethel (?) George (1915) and Leonard (1924) all now deceased. & lived in St John's road after they married.

If any one knows anything about Thomas and his parents or brothers & sisters I would be most grateful to hear from you.

Thanks
Carol

Staffordshire / FarmYards for Rowley Regis
« on: Wednesday 22 June 05 17:33 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
Does any one know if there is a web site or somewhere I can go that lists farms around the Rowley Regis Area (Kingswinford Staffordshire), for around 1901.

I would ideally like a register of some sort that lists the people who worked on the farm's.

Not sure where to go with this..

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / 1841 & 1851 look up please
« on: Friday 10 June 05 17:51 BST (UK)  »
Would be grateful if anyone would be able to look the following family up for me on 1841 & 1851 census. I suspect the children listed are the last to be born so are hoping the search will reveal a few more. There may be a strong chance they moved to the area, as I have no luck in tracking down a  birth certificate for my G.G granddad for this area (not sure though)

The Common Room / Confused on where to go next
« on: Monday 25 April 05 17:06 BST (UK)  »
I have been tracing my side of the family with great fun and not too many problems, although I have got stuck a few times but perservance has usually paid off.

However on deciding to trace my husbands side I have drawn a complete blank and have no idea which is the best way to go
I got back to his Grand Father only to find that on the marriage certificate (1905)his father is listed as Crumpton while he is a Hughes.
Can any one offer any assistance on the best way to try and obtain a birth certificate as I am having problems tracking eithe of them on the census sheets.
