Technical Help / Scanning and editing photos win10

I have some photos I want to scan. To make things faster I usually put 4 or so on the scanner and then copy and crop them to individual photos. I can't see how to do this with windows 10.

I have an HP all in one and downloaded their app - scan and capture. 'Photographs' on win10 doesn't seem to easily do what I want. I used to use picassa on the old laptop.

Has anyone any ideas for what I can download and use? I have to give the photos back to the owner soon.

Just got a lenovo all-in-one as my old laptop is slowing down and certain keys have stopped working.

This new one is fine at times but is often slow and sluggish loading. The blue circle goes round and round ......and round. Evntually it might slowly load, or it might time out.
Sometimes the pages load incompletely or without photos (eg newspapers) or it looks as thought it's loaded a site but features are missing.
It's driving me mad at times.

I wonder whether to send it back, or would it be better with a faster broadband connection? Can anyone say?
The old laptop, win 7, can be a bit slow but doesn't seem as bad. It's just that it's past its prime being 8 years old.

Details - Intel celeron CPU j3160, 4gb ram, 64 bit x 64 processor , running windows 10 home - if that all helps.

My son used my laptop at my house to get into his gmail to print something off. Today he phoned me to say he could see my computer and see what I'd been searching this morning. .
I use firefox and hotmail.

I logged out of his email, and he said things were back to normal.

What was happening?

Not sure if this is the correct forum, however......

I have a large family file on the now obsolete PAF, and I can't seem to export it. What do I do?
I also want to split one family off and separate it from everyone else, is this possible.

don't know where to put it, did think Ancestral Quest, but that wants some dollars to open up. Need something closely resembling PAF really, but just at the moment want to save everything.
Can I save it to a memory stick?

This has gone on for the last hour or so. It's svchost services. when I right click and go to properties it shows 4 things highlighted.

What can I do? The fan is running madly.

Technical Help / Broadband useage query

I have had 10gb monthly with BT for some years now and it has been adequate for me. In the last few months I've seen an increase in use from 6 to 7 GB a month up to last month when I went over th 10gb. This month is looking as though I may go over again.
I haven't changed my web use.
But it did occur to me that I got an ipad a couple of months ago. Does the ipad use broadband when I'm on my laptop? Is it the ipad that is doing something that uses the broadband?

removing yahoo search from firefox

Can anyone please tell me how to get rid of it. I inadvertantly downloaded this with some other garbage which I've deleted now, but this yahoo web search willl not go. I've tried add-ons and extensions and it's not in those lists. Every time I open a new tab I get a yahoo search and I don't want it.
