Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / What does it say after Police Officer please?

Hi

This is James Arundel in 1861 as, it appears, a police officer.  This is odd because in 1851, 1871, 1881 etc he worked as a machine fitter/mechanic.  Just wondering what the words are after Police off...

While I'm here, can anybody possibly think of a reason a mechanic should suddenly become a police officer and then revert to trade??

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Are civil marriages listed at Ashton under Lyne records library?

Hello,

If a marriage is shown as Ashton under Lyne Civil Marriage on the UKBMD site, does that mean its Registry Office and the only way I can view it is to order it, or is there somewhere I can find the details?

Technical Help / Help printer has suddenly gone funny

Help please!!! My printer was fine, printed 30 something pages of a document with text black and some coloured text. Then the last two pages were black with a hint of red. I have changed every single ink even though they hadn't run out (according to printer). Have cleaned, etc and now this is how my photos ( and text) are printing

These are the parents of the young girl on the motor bike photo.  Sorry a scan of a scan at 600 again.  I realise this is my third request and will fully understand if no one is able to clean and tidy for me.  I am not expecting much can be done, but I have been amazed before by the restorations on here.

This is James and Edith in their late teens on a holiday in Blackpool circa 1929.  The corners are  cracked.  Would really appreciate someone to clan and tidy this picture.  I have scanned at 600 dpi (I hope).

Australia / Victoria, Australia, Passenger Lists, 1839–1923 William A King help please

William Alfred King born 1885 in Wymondham, Norfolk,  left England for Australia between 1913 and 1925 (in 1925 he married in St Kilda, Victoria).  Does anyone have access to the passenger lists please and can tell me when he actually left the UK or maybe where he was living with his wife Hilda in 1925?

Staffordshire / Missing on 1851 and 1861 census, Thomas Hill please

Thomas Hill was born about 1844 in Lichfield, Staffordshire. 

I have him on the 1871/1881/1891/1901 until his death.  He married Elizabeth Pegg in 1869 and on the 1871 they are living with her parents in St Chad, Lichfield. 

On the IGI (Family Search) I have found a Thomas Hill christened 7th July 1844 at Saint Michael, Lichfield Stafford, parents name Anne Hill (no father’s  name), but can’t find any trace of an Anne or Thomas.  :-\

Been looking over a week now help please!!!
