Monmouthshire / WATKINS, Jeremiah born ca 1789 poss. Llanfoist
« on: Saturday 15 February 20 12:28 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there,
I am stuck on the above Jeremiah WATKINS. What I know is that he married Rachel JEREMIAH  Marriage
12th June 1814 • Goytre, Monmouthshire, Wales
Jeremiah Watkins of Llanfoist, bach and Rachel Jeremiah of Goytre Spin by Banns. Jeremiah X'd and Rachel signed as did her father Richard and Margaret Lewis [Witnesses].
I believe that Jeremiah is the son of Richard WATKINS b ca 1745 Llanfoist who married Mary REECE.

I feel that this is a Non-Conformist family as I cannot find any sight of Jeremiah's baptism.
Jeremiah and Rachel had 2 daughters and one Mary (b 1827 Govilan [Deri] Monmouthshire) married Thomas EDWARDS 04 Jan 1824 • Newtown, Montgomery, Wales.

Many thanks for any help.

Please would SKS be kind enough to enhance this image for me? The Photo is of my gt gt grandfather Edward Lloyd, standing behind the gate post of his home in Amos Hill, Penygraig.  By his dress he looks as if he has just come home from work at the pit head where he was a stationery engineer. He was also the leader of a Brass Band and was famous in the locality for this - so a newspaper tells me.
Very many thanks if this can be sharpened up.
