Among badges left to me by my father are two GNC  badges. The first inscribed, G.Lewis SRN 06367. 22/11/40.
The second has W.H Rees, RMN B934, 28/11/41. It would be nice to give these to the families of these people.
Is there a way to find out who they were?  My family lived in Cardiff.

Monmouthshire / Gout Farm, Peterstone Wentlooge.
« on: Sunday 21 March 10 17:05 GMT (UK)  »
My ancestors lived at Gout Farm, Peterstone, from the 1830's. I know that they were there in 1911 but not sure after that date.  They were the Williams family.  My 3xgreat grandfather was William Williams. He married Jane Phillips.

I know that the Peterstone Golf Club now stands on the land which was occupied by Gout Farm.

Does anyone have any memories or photographs of the farm which they could share with me please ?

Glamorganshire / Emanuel family.
« on: Monday 27 October 08 14:56 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for the family of my great-great grandmothers brother.  She was Mary Emanuel and married Richard Scudamore.

Her brother was James Emanuel, a tailor, b.c1803 in Cardiff.   On the 1841 census he is living alone in St. John, Cardiff.

In 1851 he is living in Pontypridd with  his wife Harriet (nee Mathews), born c1816 in Cardiff, and children:-

Jane b.1846 in Weston- super- Mare.

Catherine b.1848 in Pontypridd.

Emily b.1849 in Pontypridd.

William b.1850 in Pontypridd.

James died in 1854 at the home of Richard Scudamore, his brother-in-law, in Lower Bute Street, Cardiff.

I can find no trace of his wife or children after 1851 or his marriage.

Any help would be very welcome!

Chris.
