« on: Sunday 25 August 19 06:36 BST (UK)  »
Hi, could someone please identify the subject of this photo - the family think he was an opera singer. He was painted by my husband's aunt when she was 15 years old in 1929.
Thank you.
Annette.

The Common Room / 33 generation tree
« on: Tuesday 02 January 18 04:44 GMT (UK)  »
Are there any suggestions as to where to begin a tree full of 33 generations dating back to the Vikings.
I feel looking at a tree gives you more idea of the overall result.
I am proud of myself but I am determined to have a tree of some sort.
Any help appreciated.

Australia / A photograph
« on: Tuesday 17 October 17 06:40 BST (UK)  »
Since receiving the results of my DNA I am looking for a photo of my newly found grandfather.
Would anyone have a picture of William David Newcomb b 1878 in Tenterfield and died in Warwick in 1955.
I know this is probably impossible but just maybe??
Any help appreciated,
Annette

Argyllshire / The Sinclairs in Tyree
« on: Friday 15 July 16 02:36 BST (UK)  »
Would anyone have information regarding Walter Sinclair b1778 in Tyree.
He is the son of Angus Sinclair & Catherine McFarlane.
I have no death date and he was supposed to be a soldier but I have not found any proof of this.

He is believed to have married Marion McArthur abt. 1804 and perhaps an Agnes McNaught.

Any help appreciated.
Regards,    Anne

Somerset / Robert Charles PASLEY
« on: Sunday 24 April 16 05:26 BST (UK)  »
I have a baptism for Robert Charles Pasley in Somerset on 15/6/1841. I am wondering if he was born there as he has strong connections in India and lived there a good part of his life.
Any help appreciated.

Australia / Cornelius Hurford
« on: Tuesday 29 March 16 02:02 BST (UK)  »
I am researching for a friend and have found Cornelius was speared to death on the Palmer River.
It was noted as being in NSW but I have found a Palmer River in QLD, and at the time of his death in  1874 and being in the center of a gold rush in Cape York I feel this is the area.

I found there was an inquest but it sounds as though I can only get a copy if I buy the result.
Is there any other way to find it?     Not sure if my friend wants to buy any certs.

Any help appreciated,
Annette

Would someone please give me an idea of the conditions on the 3 mast full rigged ship in 1881 taking 3 months to travel to Qld.
I presume there  would have been casualties due to the heat In Dec-Mar. Not sure how many passengers the ships would have carried.
Any help appreciated,

United States of America / A Boston Birth
« on: Wednesday 23 September 15 02:42 BST (UK)  »
Hi All.
I have a ggrandfather - his name -  William Morgan SOUTHAN.
His death Cert. in 1904 in Sydney shows he was born in 1851 in Boston USA.
His Father - William.    The informant was his son.

The Boston birthplace is evident on his childrens B/C's but not on his marriage in NZ in1876 which has limited information.

I have been unable to find his travelling to NZ and was not living in Aust. till 1885 for the birth of his last 7 children.

I would appreciate any help.  Was he born in Boston and was his Father William - Goodness knows.
