Peeblesshire / Minister's records Scotland
« on: Monday 29 January 07 14:01 GMT (UK)  »
I have a new computer and lost some of my bookmarks.  I used to have access to a list of Scottish ministers at all the churches.  Does anybody know where that is or what it is called??

Antrim / Titanic-employee Harland & wolff
« on: Tuesday 08 August 06 17:53 BST (UK)  »
We have just learned that my wifes grandfather worked for Harland & Wolff, from about 1908 to 1914.  Since that includes the time the TITANIC was built, there is a good chance that he worked on these ships.  Is there somewhere a person can access the names of employees for H&W who worked on the Titanic??

Down / Baptismal records
« on: Saturday 24 June 06 19:24 BST (UK)  »
We have just returned from a visit to Northern Ireland.  Since our visit we would like to locate baptismal records for a family member.  I had recently had the Ulster Historical Society do an investigation and very comprehensive search for us but were unable to located any baptismals in the Belfast area.  Since the mother and father (David Fairfield & Margaret Ann Dunlop) were married in Killinchy, I am assuming that perhaps they baptized their children there.  We are looking for the baptismal record of one of their children William Fairfield b. 19 April 1890 at Gilnarhirk, county Down.

Can anybody suggest how I might locate a baptismal record?  I have no idea where to start.

Down / COMPLETED- Baptismal records
« on: Saturday 01 October 05 16:50 BST (UK)  »
I have my wifes grandfathers birth certificate, but we are trying to determine his middle name.  (there are conflicting accounts).
I had the UHF do some family research but our budget ran out before they could finish the baptismal records.
We now believe the family was baptised in Killinchy.

What is the best way to obtain Baptismal records, I don't mind paying, is there an online service?

Down / Killinchy Presbyterian Church - baptismal
« on: Friday 30 September 05 13:45 BST (UK)  »
A few questions about Killinchy.  As I have never been to that area, just wondering how far it is from Gilnahirk.  I have hired the UHS to do research but was not able to find any baptismal records for the Fairfields.  We now think they were baptized at the Killinchy Presbyterian Church.  Is there a way to find out?  I am looking for William Fairfield 1890 and the rest of his 11 brothers and sisters, but most importantly, William.  Important to know his middle name.  Either David or James....
HELP??

Norfolk Lookup Requests / 1841 lookup Benjamin Collins
« on: Thursday 22 September 05 14:09 BST (UK)  »
I have a Benjamin Collins that in the 1881 census shows an age of 41 and lists his birthplace as Horstead, Norfolk.  I believe he was married in 1859 to a Sarah.  His full name may be Benjamin Hughes Collins but I not entirely sure about that.  His children are: John b.1860, William James Elias b. 1864, Herbert b.1867, George Albert b. 1870 & Florence Sarah b. 1872.  Their places of birth all show Norwich, Norfolk.  Any help??
