Hi,

I am looking for the death date for a William John SOLOMON who was born in Cornwall in 1832 and may have died in Guisborough or surrounding area. 

Any help greatly appreciated as I am struggling.

I have recently discovered that I have BENNETTO ancestors from Cornwall, in and around St Ewe.  Is anyone else searching the BENNETTO family or have any further information?  I'd like to hear from you if so.

Cornwall / Hotels in St Ewe in 1870s

Dear All,

My great great grandparents were married at the Parish Church in St Ewe in 1874.  At the time of their marriage they were recorded on the marriage certificate as living at a Hotel in St Ewe, the name appears as, perhaps, Hersro Hotel, although I cannot find any record of such a hotel. 

I have attached an image showing the name of the He* Hotel, in St Ewe, listed twice as they were both living there and I presume working there.  If anyone has any idea what this name is I would very much appreciate it!

Hi,

I am doing some research on Amelia Solomon (nee Minetta) who was living in Brotton.  They did live also in Skinningrove in 1911 also.  I have managed to find a record that suggests she was burried in St Peters church sometime in the 1930s - record states 193? - does anyone know if there is a St Peters in Brotton?  I can find C o E schools called St Peters but no church of St Peters.  Does anyone with any local knowledge know if there is a church or if it had been renamed?

Any help greately appreciated.

Hi,

I'm having trouble locating Frederick Goodbody b 1867 in London.  On the 1891 Census I cannot find him.

On the 1881 Census he was working as an errand boy in Rotherham, on 1901 Census he was living in Swinton in Rotherham and was now married to Ada.

Can anyone help?  It would be greatly appreciated.

Norfolk / ROUNCE - Is anyone researching the Rounces?

Hi,

I have a number of people in my family tree who are members of the Rounce family.  Is anyone else researching the Rounce family?  I have a Philip Rounce who was born in Oulton in/around 1854 who then went on to mary Louisa Squires and live in Aylsham. 

His parents were Jabez Rounce (born 1829 in Oulton) and Sarah Bullock (born 1831).
Jabez's parents were James Rounce (born 1803 in Oulton) and Maria Holmes (born 1808).

Rounce is not a very common surname (118 families in England or Wales on the 1891 Census) therefore I'm interested to hear from anyone with Rounce history research.  Particularly those with ties to Oulton/Aylsham.

I hope someone can help me.  I'm trying to locate a Frederick Goodbody who was born in London in/around 1867.  I have been unable to find him on the 1871 Census

1881
Appears in Swinton, Rotherham, Yorkshire - aged 14, place of birth Whitechapel, London

1901
Appears in Swinton, Rotherham, Yorkshire - aged 34, place of birth Whitechapel, London
Now married to Ada

1911
Appears in Mexborough, Rotherham, Yorkshire - aged 44, place of birth Middlesex, London
Census states Ada and Frederick have been married 17 years making their marriage around 1894

Can anyone find Frederick Goodbody on the 1871 Census?  I've drawn a blank so far....

Any help greatly appreciated.
