Lanarkshire / Sarah Griffiths born 1811 COMPLETED
« on: Tuesday 09 April 19 13:36 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone
I am researching for a friend in Australia and trying to discover the death of Sarah Griffiths nee Jordan b in 1811 in Penscombe, Herefordshire.  In the 1901 Scotland census aged 89 she is staying with her son Peter William Griffiths in Govan, Glasgow, Lanarkshire.

Is there anyone who can assist in finding her death please?

Thank you

Hello

Could anyone enlighten me as to what regiment my grandfather was serving in or any other information? Is he holding a glengarry please? I have found no records for him and the name of Thomas Nash is not as rare as I could wish for!

Thank you Wendy47

Norfolk / Where were William KITCHEN and Susannah WALLIS from???
« on: Sunday 09 April 17 13:10 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone

I have this dilemma [one of many].

William Kitchen died in 1841 and is buried in St Remigus Church in Royden Norfolk aged either 84 or 86 depending on the death info on gro.gov.uk or the burial image on findmypast. I can find no information for his birth in about 1756 at all.
The problem I have is that I have [at last] discovered his marriage in 1785 at St Georges, Hanover Square in London to Susannah Wallis and it states they were from the parish [although they may have stayed there for the banns to be read and both seems to have been well over the age of consent].

In 1788 and 1789 their children, William & Susannah Kitchen, were bapt in Diss Norfolk a few miles from Royden, Norfolk.

I can't find a bapt of Susannah Wallis, although there are two burials on Freereg in Sept 1809 in Roydon for a  Susannah Kitchen aged 63 but one states she is the wife of William and the other states she is a daughter.  I have not been able to find any images of these burials.

There seems to be a lot of Kitchen families in and around the area and several branches both in Norfolk and Suffolk.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can find these two individuals please?

Thank you Wendy47

« on: Thursday 03 November 16 16:04 GMT (UK)  »
Hello

Could anyone enlighten me please.
I have a marriage of my ancestors at St Dunstan and All Saints, Stepney on 17 June 1787 and there is the following given as the hamlet of what looks like -  M. G. N. J.

I know MEOT is Mile End Old Town so I presume it is along the same lines.

Suffolk / Is John Rands John Reynolds?
« on: Thursday 20 October 16 13:46 BST (UK)  »
Hello

I have found a baptism of John Reynolds 19 Jul 1790 in Mendlesham, Suffolk parents John & Mary Reynolds nee Thurlow.

I have found a marriage of John Rands to Mary Thurlow 12 Nov 1789 in Mendlesham with the groom coming from Wetheringsett, Suffolk.

I wondered if it is the same couple but as there is no image on familysearch could skp have a look at the register to check the groom's name if anyone has the image please. It could well be a written error of the name in the register due to the accent though.

Thank you

Norfolk / William Kitchen & Susan Woollage
« on: Wednesday 19 October 16 18:03 BST (UK)  »
Hello

I have found a marriage of my ancestors Susannah Kitchen to John Reynolds in Roydon, near Diss Norfolk in 1811. She was bapt in Diss in 1789. Parents William & Susan Kitchen nee Woollage according to the photo of the record.
I have found the images of both the bapt and marriage above.

I cannot find a marriage of William and Susanna Woollage I have looked in Norfolk and Suffolk records for Findmypast, Ancestry and Familysearch to no avail. There is a William married to a Susan Wallis but no marriage there either. Please could someone come up with where I try next or is that another broken twig in my family tree.

Thank you

Kent / Emma Ellen Tyler
« on: Wednesday 09 March 16 13:33 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Everyone

Thanks to the 1939 Census giving me a birth date of 23 Dec 1870 in Milton next Gravesend I have finally discovered the mother of Mary Ann Tyler. I purchased several birth certs about 10 years ago and one of them is hers. Of course no father is mentioned and Emma Ellen Tyler was listed as her mother and was very young being, bapt in 1852.

Mary Ann never said much about her parents but stated she was born in Gravesend on all her census records  and her father was listed as William Tyler, deceased on her wedding cert in 1894.
Emma married in Sept 1871 to Cpl William Admonds RM in Chatham and had a son William R in Hull in 1874. Unfortunately Emma died in Newbury in 1880 but in 1881 Mary Ann Adnams aged 10 b 1871 in Gravesend is listed as the daughter of William Adnams in Speen, Newbury who died in 1891. Could this be my Mary Ann?

Can SKP find out any more about the above please.

Thank you Wendy 47 ??? ???
