Ireland Resources / purchasing documents from registries
« on: Tuesday 02 January 18 00:50 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I just want to know if there is someone who can be recommended who does research and is prepared to find some death certificates or copies of them for me from a registry and I will pay for them, or provide me with contact details of who to contact at the registries with my requests. I will endeavour to supply as much information as I can. Look forward to hearing from someone.
Thanks in advance for any assistance provided.

Carlow / DAWSON
« on: Tuesday 18 March 14 11:54 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I am looking for any information really on the DAWSON family of Rathoe County Carlow. I visited Ireland last year and amazingly found family graves of my GGrandfather's brother and family at St Patricks Church graveyard at Rathoe County Carlow. I spoke to the post lady at the post office on the day and she said there was a JOHN DAWSON Auctioneer at Tullow that was related to those graves. If anyone knows of this person or family I would love to make contact please. The grave at St Patricks contains my GGrand Uncle Daniel Dawson and his brother James (or William) Dawson came to Australia with his sister Julia (Judith) and emmigrated.  I would really like to hear from anyone knowing anything of this family.. James Dawson's parents were Margaret Hines (Hynes) and John Dawson, their children were Bridget, Bernard, Daniel, James (William), Mary, Thomas and Julia (Judith).  The headstone for Daniel Dawson at St Patricks mentions his wife Annie Dawson nee Watchorn, Margaret Bridget Fitzgerald (nee Dawson) who married John Joseph Fitzgerald, their son James Jospeh Fitzgerald and a daughter named Elizabeth but not sure whose daughter she was. There is also a monument for a Seamus Fitzgerald who I have no idea who that is and also a Sir Charles Alfred Langdale who I am unsure of also...any help with this would be enormously appreciated.

Cheers

Cheshire / Nantwich Cemetery
« on: Thursday 07 November 13 08:40 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Guys

Im am interested in knowing more about Nantwich Cemetery?? I have recently come back from a trip to England where I visited St Marys Nantwich looking for graves. I found a lot of grave headstones that made a pathway around the church believeing they to be graves.  I was informed that the graveyard out front of the church had been grassed over, I am unsure if the graves that were in that area were removed or remain underneath the grass area. I am aware that there is an area in a vault inside the church where the remains lie of a number of persons who were disturbed during the renovations of the floor in recent times. I am uncertain if the remains under that floor contain any remains from the outer graveyard now grassed over. When I visited I had only a short few hours, there was a food and drink festival on so there were hundreds of people there, and a lovely old chap in the Church gave me some insight into the history but it was short as you would expect, there were lots of people there asking him questions.  Can anyone tell me....anything more about St Marys Nantwich?  I am looking for the graves of Mary Jones d 1880 who died in Nantwich widow of Edward Jones who died in Nantwich and who I believed both to be buried there, but found no graves. I put that down to renovations and their graves being disturbed. However, even though they may have died in Nantwich perhaps they weren't buried at St Marys. Edward died much earlier than Mary, around 1827 and she in 1880. She lived in Nantwich Middlewich Cheshire. I know where they died but I want to know where their graves are.  My husband and I walked over every plaque there was around and in St Marys but found no Mary or Edward. We thought at the time they may have been some of the ones who were incripted under the church floors, or perhaps they still lay in unmarked graves under grassed area at front of church.  Can anyone over there help me find the information I am looking for.  We did find some family members...Turners (as Mary was a Turner Jones) buried at St Chads at Wybunbury which was so great to find.  I just presumed because Mary and Edward died at Nantwich which is what their records show..that they were buried there at St Marys as that is where they married, but one should never presume...I wish I'd had more time to stay over there to investigate for myself. Can anyone help me???
Wait to hear,
Cheers Pamela from Aus

« on: Sunday 28 July 13 12:46 BST (UK)  »
Looking to find anyone who might be connected to JOHN DAWSON b 1817 in Rathtoe Gilbertstown County Carlow and MARGARET (MARY)HINES b Rathrush County Carlow. Their children were James (William), Julia (Judith), Bernard, Daniel, Bridget, Thomas and Mary Lillith. Because of hard times in Ireland two of their older children James and Julia were sponsored by Douglas Hamilton to be sent to Australia in 1867 where they settled, eventually married and had families. John and Margaret are my great grandparents. I would like to find out about the children and parents left behind in Ireland and what happened to them. If there are any descendants living in Ireland today. I am visiting Ireland in about a months time and hope to visit the counties my relies came from. It would be nice to find graves or information or even some relies during my stay.
MARGARET HINES' parents were JAMES HINES of County Carlow and BRIDGET MURPHY of same.
When in Australia James Dawson married Mary Ann Cook of Tipperary b 1862, her parents in Ireland were James Cook and Catherine Ryan....and their parents were John Cook and Margaret Brien all of Golden Tipperary.
A lot of names to take on board but maybe someone will know of someone.
Appreciate any help.
Cheers

Perthshire / STEWART/ROBERTSON
« on: Saturday 27 July 13 02:00 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone

Any assistance in the following would be appreciated:
I am looking for information about ANNE STEWART ROBERTSON born 6 March 1827 Blairgowrie Perthshire.  Her residence at birth was Milltown of Drumlochie.  Her father was a labourer working on a farm at Milltown at the time.  Her parents were DONALD (DANIEL) ROBERTSON born 1786 Blair Atholl Perthshire and REBECCA BUTTARS born 1788 Blairgowrie Perthshire Kirkmichael. Rebecca or also listed as Rebekah died in 1835 in Blairgowie Perthshire and this may have prompted Donald to emigrate with the family.  Donald was listed as a stonemason on ships records to Australia. The family emigrated to Australia in 1838 when Anne was 11. Anne married in Australia a JAMES MCDONALD who was born in 1825 in Edinburgh but who emigrated to Australia himself in 1849 but lived in Dumfrieshire in 1849 before emigrating. ANNE may have gone under ANNE STEWART or ANNE ROBERTSON. On the ship to Australia the surname was listed ROBINSON and ROBERTSON?  The family who emigrated were of 10 sons and 3 daughters.
I am travelling to Scotland in 3 weeks time and would like to find graves, family connections, anything really.  One son's middle name was McLeod Robertson so there may be a connection to the McLeods.
Any help would be appreciated. I may be lucky and find relies..would love to think so.
Cheers

Family History Beginners Board / Lambkin Family
« on: Friday 29 August 08 14:06 BST (UK)  »
I have been researching my mother's father's family, George Henry Lambkin.

The line goes as follows:
George Lambkin b aprx1811 married Caroline Havard b aprx1812, they had
George b aprx1839 in Horsmonden Eng married Emily Jenkins who had 7 children one another George Henry Lambkin b aprx1864 NSW
This George went on to marry Harriet Amelia King b aprx1867 NSW and they had another George Henry Lambkin b aprx 1884 in NSW.
Then this George went onto marry Ellen Florence Dawson.
They had Joyce Bery Lambkin who married my father Stanley Wallace Johnson.
And then came me.

So George b1811 who married Caroline Havard b1812 was my g-g-g grandfather. The attached photo is my gfather George.

Anyone out there who may be linked to my Lambkins or my Dawsons or has other information?  Please contact.
