Kent / Medway Archives
« on: Tuesday 12 April 22 14:02 BST (UK)  »
Having used Medway archives/ city ark, over the years, I now find it requires me to download each seperate parish record. When I try to open it , the screen freezes and won't move on. Is this something to do with Adobe which seems to have issues I don't understand? Can anyone help please,  I am not tech minded at all.

Kent / Belvedere marriage Mitchell/Taylor
« on: Sunday 27 October 13 10:08 GMT (UK)  »
Could someone please look up the marriage of James Mitchell and Eliza Phyllis Taylor which took place at All Saints Belvedere 1 Jan 1870
I would like to know the first name and occupation of James's father, also the names of any witnesses.
If they don't match my James, then I can rule this marriage out.

      Thank you    ama50

   Can anyone help please ?

Frank Mitchell, b.1888 in England, has an address in NSW in 1921.
This is on his British Army service record.
The address is:

   Denison Street, Mayfield, NSW.

He married Evelyne Hobden in 1922 in England, but I would like to
know if they went back to Australia, as Frank's brother was out
there.  ( Rootschatters have kindly found his details already,
Robert Mitchell was in Ballarat, Victoria.)

Any info. would be be very helpful.

Australia / MITCHELL/Ballarat
« on: Tuesday 27 October 09 17:14 GMT (UK)  »
I hope someone can help. I am trying to track down Frank and Evelyne Mitchell born 1888 and 1891 who went to Australia after August 1922. They were from Wilmington, Kent, England . Frank served in the British Army and his service record address was amended to 609, Ascot Street ? Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, sometime after 1919.
I know they were married in Wilmington, Kent in 1922, but have had no luck checking the immigration records.
Frank had a brother, Robert born 1890. From what I am told, he may have already left for Australia prior to 1920.

The remaining siblings in Wilmington lived in a house called "Ballarat", maybe relevant but I dont know anything more.  Many thanks.     ama

« on: Wednesday 03 September 08 21:04 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help?  Iam trying find the parents of John Witherow. I think he was born in Kilrea in 1889.  He had a younger brother called William (known as Willie) who farmed at Laragh until about the 1960s. Willie was married to May. John came to England around 1912 and probably signed the Covenant in London where he married the same year. There were probably some other siblings, but I dont know their names. Thank You  ama
