How do I go about finding out if someone has recently "remarried"? He won't communicate and as far as we're concerned, he is still married to our daughter!!!

London and Middlesex / Closing my Bardouleau Research Permanently1
« on: Thursday 17 June 21 10:03 BST (UK)  »
It has been some considerable while since I pursued any research in this "Bardouleau" that I started  to build as a memory to my late stepmother Anne Rose Bardouleau. I am no longer able to invest any further effort.

The tree is "public" on ancestry.co.uk and will remain available  as long as my subscription remains in place. Please feel free to help yourself to any of the research and photos that I have scanned in. I cannot speak to those who have been kind enough to let me copy their images into my tree and perhaps you should deal directly with them?

The Bardouleaus/Bardonlews/et al have a fascinating history. My stepmother was convinced they were Hugueneots but in fact they were Catholic refugees fleeing the excesses of the French Revolution snd subsequent persecution.

They settled into main areas: Mile End Old Town and Lambeth. Annie as of the Lambeth tribe.

Thank you Annie; you kept me honest.

« on: Tuesday 27 August 19 16:23 BST (UK)  »
David is a carpenter and he and Anne raised their family in Llangethen. There two Annes registered at the same time:

Anne Davies
Anne Thomas

My maternal grandfather was a Thomas. My maternal grandmother was a Davies.

Why should it be easy ::)

Carmarthenshire / Joseph Jones and Mary Ann Jones
« on: Saturday 06 July 19 16:39 BST (UK)  »
Jospeh born 1856, Llangendeirne, mason.
Wary Ann born 1860, Llangendeirne.

In 1891 I have them living with their family in Penrheol, Cilgarw, Llangendeirne.

I can't find anything about them before 1891 and would welcome any earlier evidence of either or both of them.

This line has emanated from a 99 cM DNA match that I share with a maternal cousin so the connection is most likely to be from somewhere around Brechfa, LLanegwad, Felingwm or Llanllawddog. Less likely would be from around Llanybydder or Rhydcymerau.

They are the maternal grandparents of my match's mother and I will copy this post again for the paternal grandparents.

Carmarthenshire / Evan Jones 1839 Felingwm and Utah FHL Lookup please
« on: Saturday 29 June 19 12:31 BST (UK)  »
Greetings Fellow Addicts :o

I would love to know the contents of the baptismal record for Evan Jones b1839 In Brechfa, Llanegwad or Abergorlech. He was the son of John Jones and Susanna Titus. He emigrated to Utah in 1862 and became a senior figure in the Mormon Church.

The is an ancestry hint for his baptism but only gives a FHL film number: 105218.

Is some kind person able to appraise me of the contents of this record?

Many thanks.

Technical Help / Anybody out there familiar with "Pingplotter" and TCP/IP
« on: Wednesday 26 June 19 19:26 BST (UK)  »
I have terible problem with my broadband and have invested in new router and a three-node mesh system but still my broadband connection keeps dropping. Sometimes it reconnects after a minute or two but other times a modem/router reboot is required.

BT ADSL Internet to a cabinet over two miles distant. I don't expect >2mbps but the constant interruptions are frustrating.

Sometimes the latency is > 500msec and other times it's its 20msec.

I attach a "pingplotter" output. You can observe when I load Netflix.com.

Any advice will be leapt upon like water for a man dying of thirst!
