Isle of Man Lookup Requests / Kneale,Knale Kneale-Kirmeen/Cannell
« on: Monday 30 August 21 23:57 BST (UK)  »
Thomas Kneal widower, and Margaret Cannell als Kirmeen widow,
were married by licence on the 10th October 1784
both of this Parish ,Patrick,
children
Henry Knale 1785
Henry Kneale  1788
Margaret Kneale 1789
a big gap here so I need to research further for possible baptisms
Radcliffe Knale born 1795, I suspect he was named after the vicar, no positive traces of him after his baptism,
Hugh my line born 1797
Mary Kneal 1799,
I would like very much to be able to trace both Margaret and Thomas's first marriages and children if possible, from their first marriages

Australia / possibly living,pointers required ( COMPLETED )
« on: Saturday 05 October 19 21:05 BST (UK)  »
I have just received a death certificate for a relative who died in Edinburgh in 1979,the chap himself went under a different name to the one he was given at birth, his mother died in 1917,and we can only assume he was brought up by someone by the name of Galloway,it's quite a tangled web, his wife died in Dundee in 1995,
the informant was his step son, and his address is given as 18 Wilhelmina Avenue Launceston Tasmania,
the son was born possibly in 1933 and his first name is Brian,he married in 1964 in Preston Pans Scotland to Cynthia (1935) (surnames omitted in case they are still living), I can see them at this address in a directory for 1978,is there any where I can research to see if they are still living or deceased please, sorry to sound vague

Scotland / New to Scotland and not sure where to look
« on: Saturday 10 February 18 12:59 GMT (UK)  »
After a conversation with another Rootschatter researching the same family from Newcastle she mentioned a sibling to the family I was researching,I had not been aware of this child, but from a family letter it stated Joseph had gone to Scotland,
Joseph Anthony was born in 1911 to Elizabeth Gibson and Joseph Spoors,
Elizabeth died in 1917 whilst her husband was away in Italy, the children were taken soon after into care,
so I thought I would have a look around and found on Scotlands people what may  possibly be his death
Recorded under James Spoors as well as Joseph Anthony, mother Gibson, aged 68 years Newington, reference 746/628,1979

also a marriage  at Martha St Glasgow,1979,again under Joseph Anthony and James Spoors,to a Lorna Galloway/Keenan,which is the year he dies,
I have searched Glasgow registers on A* can anyone give me some pointers to where I should be looking please, can I access any wills or other information for this period online

A little help needed please,
can anyone access BT334 records for the year 1897
The Sunshine,
other than Lloyds registers I have been unable to  find any other information on the ship that would help me trace her movements in 1897

I have discovered whilst helping a friend get started on her family history,
that two of her ancestors died possibly at sea,on the Sunshine circa 1897
it would be grand to add some details their names were
Edward Broderick (father) and James Douglas Broderick son of Edward and Ann
the family were living in South Shields in 1897
Edward was from Seaton Sluice originally
Thanks in advance

Wicklow / Michael Barry,Sergeant RIC Mayo,Born Wicklow,served Mayo
« on: Tuesday 11 April 17 21:43 BST (UK)  »
Michael Barry
pensioned police sergeant and labourer born circa 1853
living in Benwell Newcastle Upon Tyne 1901 and 1911 states married 32 years
the marriage produces 14 children

I have no idea where he married or the correct spelling for his wifes maiden name Anne Kellehar perhaps, she is born Leitrim according to the census circa 1861,

I have found two baptisms John in 1882 and Sarah Ann in 1883,both in Mayo where there father is a policeman, younger siblings according to the census are born in Westport

Michael Barry is drawing his pension from 1898 at the customs house in Newcastle,
so I can only assume that he has not long moved from Mayo to Newcastle Upon Tyne, his name is mentioned in 1867,1880 and 1897 police record number 37091

I have been unable to find a possible baptism for Michael or a marriage and really I am not sure if his should be in Wicklow or Mayo, and help what so ever appreciated
