My mum's middle name was Martin, her cousin's middle name was Lawrence.

This has always puzzled me, has anyone found something similar in their family tree?

It's looks like a mortar and pestle, but it's bigger and heavier.   Not sure if the lump is metal or stone, but it's not lead (not soft).

From the ages I'm trying to work out who's who.

My dad is at the bottom right, born March 1912, he looks about 2½, so late 1914.  So what do you think the ages of the bride and groom are?

Still not finding a lot of people  ???

Found my granddad in 1939 in the Midlands, England, Electoral Registers, 1832-1955.  He's in Hinstock Road, Birmingham.

I look up Hinstock Road in the 1939 Register, and some houses are there, but not many and not the one I want.  What's the problem here?

Having trouble reading my great uncle's WW1 service record.

I can make bits of it out, 14. looks like "family history of insanity"  :o
16. looks like "father died aged 50"
17. looks like it ends "very mischievous and excitable - has no self control."

Can anyone decipher it some more?

Warwickshire / Can't find birth or death
« on: Tuesday 15 February 11 18:12 GMT (UK)  »
My great grandfather Arthur Griffiths.  A Brass Caster born 1860 in Birmingham.
He married Ada Florence Mainwaring 21/7/1883.  In 1911 he was living at 163 Warwick Road, Sparkhill and he's still there in 1939 according to the electorial registers.

I've been searching FreeBMD and Ancestry with no luck whatsoever  ???
