Yorkshire (North Riding) / Chapel of Bagby in 1842
« on: Saturday 27 June 15 16:52 BST (UK)  »
I have a marriage certificate from 1842 which states that the marriage took place at the Chapel of Bagby, can anyone tell me which church this would have been please.  I can find info that tells me St Mary's at Bagby was only built in 1862, was this rebuilt then or actually only built then?

Quaker Family History / Quakers in Skipton and Knaresborough
« on: Saturday 20 June 15 11:02 BST (UK)  »
I have some information about a marriage of some of my ancestors who were Quakers, but I am a little unsure as to where the marriage took place. I have something that tells me they married 28 Oct 1703 event place Skipton, but also have something else that says event date 28 Oct 1703 Knaresborough. Now I know  things were covered by the Knaresborough monthly meetings but does this mean they were actually married in Skipton? If so would it have been their usual meeting house place or somewhere else?

Longford / Veterinary surgeons in the 1800's
« on: Saturday 23 May 15 13:01 BST (UK)  »
Would anyone know if there would be any records relating to veterinary surgeons in or around Longford in the 1800's. I know it is different for vets now but was there any kind of registration back then? I know the man I'm looking for had a daughter born in Longford circa 1843 and I know he was deceased pre 1892 but I'm not sure where he died or how long before 1892 he died. His daughter moved to England with her family and I don't have any record of her father in England  I only have his name Michael Hoey (or Hoy) and occupation at this stage.

Hello
I've located a burial that took place at St Pauls, Alverthorpe, Wakefield for a Laura Culverwell in February 1951. Does anyone know whether there are there any records that would lead me to   particular grave details so that I can see who she is buried with? If so does anyone have access to do a look up for me please. I'm also trying to find a burial of a baby -Sidney Culverwell in 1901 who was her son but at this stage I am unsure if he was buried there, my thoughts are at the moment are that he wasn't but I need to check it out. I don't know the area at all but I now I have one burial it's a starting point for me.
Thank you

Lancashire / Patrick Kirby b c 1831
« on: Friday 11 October 13 18:14 BST (UK)  »
I'm looking for any info on Patrick Kirby who was born in Ireland c 1831. I have him on 1841 census in St Helens, Lancashire with his mother and 3 siblings, then I have him on 1871 on census again in St Helens, Lancashire with his mother and two further (half) brothers. Apart from that I have nothing else on him, just wondering if anyone has any further info on him, or can point me in the direction of any possible marriages or any burial info I could research. As always, very grateful for any info no matter how small. Thank you.

Yorkshire (North Riding) / Layton Craven - Hawnby
« on: Saturday 10 August 13 00:17 BST (UK)  »
Hi
Re Layton (Laton) Craven born 1850 Hawnby. I am really struggling to find out what happened to Layton after 1871. I have him on census up until then but I can't find any further details about him.  It is not the Layton who married Mary Ann Blackburne , also it is not the Layton who died 1917. I can't find him on any passenger lists etc but I am wondering if he emigrated. Would anyone have any info on him or can anyone suggest any pointers on where to look now. It could be that I am now looking that hard that I am missing something. Grateful for any info, thanks.

Lancashire / Samuel Pickavance, Cicely (Forshaw) & their daughter Cicely, Rufford
« on: Monday 25 March 13 14:43 GMT (UK)  »
I have done a little research on this family and I am now trying to confirm what happened to their daughter Cicely b c 1761. I have undertaken some research into what I think could be her but I have nothing confirmed as yet, does anyone have any confirmed information regarding Cicely. I have a marriage that took place at St Nicholas' Church in Liverpool in 1784 but I am now needing to confirm  whether this is the Cicely from Rufford or not. Can anyone tell me how I could confirm this either one way or the other, as the info that I have seen re the marriage doesn't confirm her father  Any help is very much appreciated.
Thanks
