Yorkshire (West Riding) / Criminal Registers - West Yorkshire
« on: Friday 23 October 09 09:48 BST (UK)  »
On Ancestry i have found the criminal register for John BECKETT born abt 1797.  The trial date is given as 2 April 1838 and he was acquitted.

Could someone with the full access to Ancestry please give me the details of the two images that are there please.

My John Beckett was born in 1796 in Steeple Claydon, Buckinghamshire and i just want to rule out this one as being mine.  I dont think it's him but never say never until you have proof :)

« on: Thursday 22 October 09 12:36 BST (UK)  »
Hi guys,

Spotted this and thought i would share.

Quote
Hi List,
I called in at Leeds Register Office yesterday to order and  pick up
a  Death Cert of an Ancestor and spotted a Notice stating that  from the
2nd
Nov 2009 to actually call in at the Office to order and pick up  a
Certificate will cost £15 but order a Cert by telephone or post will still
be £7, is this going to be the same in all Register Offices?

Buckinghamshire / Where was Joseph TARBOX born.
« on: Wednesday 14 October 09 11:07 BST (UK)  »
On the 1851 Census i have Joseph living with his G/parents in Drayton Parslow, Bucks.  He is 1 yr old and where born is stated as being Woolwich, Kent.

On the 1861 he is still living with G/parents in Drayton Parslow but his birth is given as Drayton Parslow.

1871 Census Joseph is living with the Taylor family in Nazeing, Essex as a farm servant and it states he was born in Woolwich, Kent.

1881 he is married and him and his family are living in Broxbourne, Herts, Birth place is Drayton, Bucks.

1891, he's in Nazeing again, birth place is Drayton.

1901, he's living in Cheshunt, Hants and his birth is Drayton , Bucks.

I would like to order his birth cert to find out how his parents are but cannot find him either being born in Drayton Parslow or Woolwich.

Can anyone help find him for me?

Added:

Strangely enough:
On the 1851 Census I have Robert TARBOX 22 working and living with the Taylor family in Mursley, Bucks
This is the same family that Joseph is with on the 1871.

Robert could be either the father or uncle of Joseph.

Buckinghamshire Completed Look ups / Help with 1871 Census - BECKETT
« on: Sunday 04 October 09 22:13 BST (UK)  »
I'm looking for Eli Beckett  born abt 1833 in Steeple Claydon. I have him and his family on all the censuses apart from the 1871.  I have tried variations of his surname and have searched his wife and kids too but no luck.

I think i need a fresh pair of eyes on this.
