Westmorland Lookup Requests / John Kendall of Crosby Ravensworth b circa 1791

Hoping that someone can help me complete the key events for John Kendall.

I started with his marriage to Diana Jepson 10 Nov 1818 in Crosby Ravensworth

I think his baptism might be 4 Sept 1791 in Crosby Ravensworth, but I am not certain on this one.

I cannot find his death or burial, however his wife Diana married again on 17 Aug 1835 in CR to a Jonathan Shepherd, leading me to think John Kendall had died before this time.

In terms of children for John and Diana, I can only find John Kendall bap: 20 May 1820 in CR.

So in summary, I am trying to verify John Kendall's baptism and parents, find out if John and Diana had any other children apart from John, and find out when he died.

Appreciate any help from a Westmorland expert.

Devon / James Moore b: circa 1835 Devonport

I would appreciate some expert help !

I am trying to find the baptism record for James Moore. I know from census records in 1871, 1881 and 1891 that he was born in Devonport around 1835. I have identified his wife and children, but I am struggling a little to tie down his parents and siblings and link him to the right family.

He married Mary Sampson Shaw on 21st October 1869 at East Stonehouse, St George. His father is James Moore, both James and his father were mariners of sorts. I think Devonport is in the parish of Stoke Damerel, but neighbouring parishes of Plymouth St Andrews and East Stonehouse may be key to his baptism record. I have not found an obvious baptism record yet on FindMyPast or FamilySearch, I do not have access to the Devon parish registers

I have a hunch on his siblings, I think they are:

Edwin Vincent Marshall Moore b 16 Apr 1826 bapt: 3 Jul 1826 Wesleyan church, Devenport
Valentine Hambleton Moore b 27 Dec 1827 bapt: 3 Mar 1828 Weslayan church, Devenport
Elizabeth Collings Moore b 17 Feb 1830

the two older sons were baptised again in an Anglican church on 27th Oct 1830 together with Elizabeth, parents given as James Moore and Elizabeth.

 I did find the following 1841 census record which may be the right one.

Elizabeth Moore aged 45 Seamans wife living at Palace Yard, Stoke Damerel
Elizabeth Moore aged 11
James Moore aged 5

I have not found any of them yet in 1851. Edwin and Valentine show up in subsequent census records as coast guards in Hastings and St Austell

So in summary, I want to find the baptism of James Moore born circa 1835 and prove his parents and siblings. Any help or advice on this case is much appreciated.

Somerset Lookup Requests / Elisabeth Land - baptism and parents ?

I would appreciate some help from the experts. Elisabeth Land was my ggg grandmother, I am trying to establish where she was born and baptised and who her parents were.

Some clues:
In 1835 she married Thomas Tudball of Withypool, Somerset in Withypool, marriage transcription says "of Hawkridge" Somerset next to her name.

In 1841 census she is married to Thomas, living in Withypool, shown aged 25 (so assume she was born around 1815) but not born in the county.

I have looked under Hawkridge marriages, which shows several daughters of a William Land getting married between 1838 and 1850, perhaps younger sisters of Elisabeth, but there are no Land baptisms in Hawkridge before 1831, so where did they come from and am I linking to the correct family ?

Essex Lookup Requests / Ernest E C Bateman 1901 & 1911 lookup request

One of my ancestors was Ernest Eferon C Bateman (b 1875 Springfield, d 1958).
I have been unable to track him in the 1901 census and do not have a subscription to the 1911 census. I know he married in 1907, but free BMD gives two possibilities for his spouse, Amelia Elizabeth Harrison or Beatrice Emma Wallace.

I would be most grateful if a lookup expert can find details of his whereabouts in 1901 and 1911 census and prove which lady he married, many thanks.... Phil

One of my g-g-Grandmother's was Elizabeth Cole born c1831 in Great Wigborough, married George Eferon Bateman and lived most of her life in Springfield Chelmsford, d 1916 Chelmsford

I am trying to track down her parents as they are one of only two sets of missing g-g-g-grandparents in my family tree. Despite having looked on IGI, I cannot locate a birth/baptism record which would help resolve Elisabeth's parents.

Can anyone throw any light on this ?

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Looking for Children of George & Sophia Nuthall circa 1830's Hounslow

I am trying to piece together one of my family lines, the Nuthall's, confectioners.  I can trace back to a George Nuthall b 1805 d 1873 and his wife Sophia who were living in Kingston, London in 1871.

I am trying to find their complete list of children, so far I have Abigail Maria (b 1831 Hounslow, my g-g-grandmother), George William (b 1933 Brentford) and Charles Edward (b 1842). Any help to fill in the gaps, other siblings etc would be much appreciated... thank you... Phil.

Dorset / Hannah Hansford b1797 Wooley, Yorkshire a mystery

One of my family names I am researching is Hansford, currently I have about 55 of them in my tree. They all come from a cluster of villages in Dorset around Netherbury, with one exception,  Hannah (my gggg grandmother) who appears on the 1851 census as born in Woolley, Yorkshire about 1796. The same information appears in about nine other members trees on ancestry, we may have all copied from each other !

This seems very odd to me, I want to try and authenticate this information, also find details of her parents. I have already checked the Yorkshire records via RC folks up there, no information at all, someone suggested Woolley (near Bath) but nothing there on IGI.  Apart from her birth details, it appears she married (Charles Warr in 1817) and lived in Halstock, Dorset. Here is the 1851 census record, I would really appreciate some help on this as I would like to solve this, Phil.

Looking for some help please from RC experts.

One of my family names I am researching is Hansford, currently I have about 40 of them in my tree on ancestry, they all come from a cluster of villages in Dorset with the exception of Hannah who appears on the 1851 census as born in Wooley, Yorkshire about 1796. The same information appears in nine other members trees on ancestry.

This seems very odd to me, I want to try and authenticate this information and wondered if anything shows up for Christening details in parish records in Yorkshire. Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Marriage look up, William Tucker & Charlotte

I would appreciate some help from experienced Rootchatters !

I am trying to track down the marriage details for William J Tucker (Butcher in Bristol) and Charlotte, about 1863 in Bristol or Somerset. I have the 1881 and subsequent census records for them but nothing before, either earlier census records or birth or marriage records (William born before civil registration)

I have tried a few possibilities on free BMD and searched on Ancestry without success. Once I can track down the marriage certificate then I have a chance of resolving many other questions such as who their parents were, whether William was previously married (given his age) and more about Charlotte.. I notice her birthplace is Withypool, which today is a village in the middle of Exmoor which I thought was in Devon, not Somerset, I have not been able to track her birth certificate.
