Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Castle Recognition
« on: Wednesday 04 January 23 16:37 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All,

Help needed to locate Castle on the dial of Long Case Clock. The clock was made in Tetbury by John Pitt prior to his death in 1859.

The painting might well be a Capriccio painting (Fantasy place).

Many thanks

Hi All,

Help would be appreciated in identifying Coat of Arms and maker of small dish found in secret drawer of Bureau. Looks like two Lions, Crown and Castle. Unfortunately there were no gold coins in the drawer or anything else to help.

Many thanks

World War One / Cpl.T. Mckenzie D.C.M. K.O.Y.L.I 36044
« on: Saturday 30 September 17 20:49 BST (UK)  »
Hi All,

I am trying to find any information regarding Cpl. T. Mckenzie D.C.M. 36044 Acklington. I have found his Citation re his D.C.M 30.10.1918  and him leading a raiding party 600 yds and being wounded at start of raid and on withdrawal. According to the Citation the raid was a complete success.

I have been unable to find anymore information on him in the Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. He might be also known as Mackenzie rather than Mckenzie.

Many thanks

He is buried at Hangard Communal Cemetery Extension.  I have been unable to find the location of Touroucourt.

Kent / Photo help of house in Kent
« on: Sunday 15 March 15 08:43 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All,

I was so impressed with scobie79's help with putting the name Tinton Manor Farm Warehorne to a previous photo that I posted on RootsChat I was wondering if anybody can put a location to this house. I think it may be linked to Warehorne, Godmersham or the Ashford area. Unfortunately there is no information on the back.

Kind regards

Many Thanks
