I am assisting a friend in Arizona who is looking for any available information on a Shirley Ann Dagger, thought to have been born in or around Sculthorpe between 1935 and 1945.  Surname may have alternative spelling.

The attached is a couple of pictures of my Great Grandmother, Margaret Bridges, who was blind and had 10 children.

It would greatly assist identifying the children in the photos, if I had an estimate of when they might have been taken.

Suffolk Lookup Requests / Wedding Anniversary, but is it Golden? Completed.

I wonder whether someone would be so kind as to look up a wedding date for two friends of mine.  I was at their wedding (I believe in Suffolk) on 1 April, but not sure whether the year was 1971 or 1972.  If the former, it's their Golden Anniversary, but I'd like to be sure before I contact them.

Their names are David Laurie Guthrie and Gwynneth Foulkes-Jones.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Identifying building - probably UK (COMPLETED)

Can anyone help me identify this building in a photo from the 1950s?  It was thought by the daughter of the man in the picture to be the National Gallery in Edinburgh, but I'm sure it isn't, for several reasons.

Warwickshire / William Alexander Brock - the mystery years

I am trying to trace the path taken by my grandparents, aunt and mother. 

William Alexander Brock was born in Leith, Scotland, on 7 May 1873.  He married Mary Brown in Leith in 1904.  Willam was a commercial traveller and storeman.

I know William and his wife Mary (Brown) sailed for Australia in 1911, and my aunt was born there within a few days of their arrival.  I have Mary's diary which describes the voyage. 

They returned to UK (Liverpool) on the vessel Roscommon in June 1913.  The record grows cold for the next two years.  The next definite news is the birth of my mother on 13/6/15 in Sparkhill, Birmingham.  Of the 1000+ leaves on my family tree, she is the only one born in England.

Next news of the family is on the Edinburgh Valuation Rolls of 1920.  But what happened in the intervening 5 years?

Orkney / Brock family of Orkney

My Brock ancestors were living in Sanday when the 1841 Census was held.  At that time, there were over 40 Brocks in Orkney.  This number had dwindled to single figures by 1911 (my own Brocks had moved to Leith by that time).

I remember my late aunt telling me that the family had originally moved to Orkney from Holland, but I have yet to unearth any evidence of that.  The Cursitor website has enabled me to trace my Brock lineage as far back as (Mr) Sutherland Brock, in the early 19th century.

Can anyone add to the Holland story?

I am looking for any details (date, possible second marriage, etc) relating to the death of my uncle's former wife.  I believe she may have died in Birmingham.  She was born Barbara Parker Cox, 20 Nov 1902.

She married John Hunter Adams in 1930 in Edinburgh, and they divorced in 1957/8.
