Evelyn Ivy Bunting-Born 1882   unsure where-died 1964 auckland, married John Charles Clayton 1901

Unable to find a source that verifies the place she was born. Wanganui is listed on some family trees and parents Edward John Bunting and Eliza Brown. There is some indication she was adopted but no records to support this. Checked inward passenger lists incase it was out of NZ but no luck there.
Is there anywhere to lookup adoptions in Wanganui?

thanks for any help.

Hi I hope someone can help.
I am confident with some of the  information I have on George and his wife Eliza Wallis. george was born either in 1837 or 1838. Most census from 1861-1911 say 1837  and a possible 1841 has it at 1838.

I can traceGeorge and Eliza  together through census from 1861-1911.
I have two possible deaths that could be my George
George Abbott   abt 1837   Mar 1920   Basford   Nottinghamshire
George Abbott   abt 1838   Mar 1916   Wellingborough   Northamptonshire

The census from 1911 lists their address as Green Cottages, West End, March, Cambridgeshire so hard to tell which it could be,as they had been in Cambridgeshire many years
I have a possible death for Eliza in July 1915 • North Witchford, Cambridgeshire.
Right county and birth year so he may have moved after her death.
Is there are resource in Cambridgeshire that could help me .
thanks

Staffordshire / Help with little Gladys
« on: Sunday 24 April 16 07:13 BST (UK)  »
I think after a long search I have found a record of my grandma sister. This little soul was called Gladys Webb, father William mother Agnes. Born 1907 died March 1908 in Lye.
This area is close to where I know the family were at times.  I am looking to find the birth so I can order the  certificate but as the family moved about a lot have not found the birth. I know she didn't have a long life.
Any help appreciated

The Common Room / Does it ever
« on: Sunday 12 April 15 04:18 BST (UK)  »
Do you ever feel that you are the only person looking at a particular family tree. It used to  strike me as sad that there is a tree with all the names and no one else from the other branches appear to be looking.

Maybe its just me getting tired of not finding the missing link.
But its  great when you get helped by a group like this. So thanks.

Dublin / looking for Baptism Patrick Boylan 1864 Dublin
« on: Sunday 12 April 15 03:41 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for a baptism for Patrick Boylan probably at St Michan 1864. His parents John and Anne Vaughan were married there 1856, his siblings Christina (1856)James (1858)Mary-ellen (1865) are recorded as being baptised there. I have Christina name recorded on Patricks enlistment, John  listed on his marriage cert. I feel it is the last piece of information that will confirm the family group. I have confirmed everything from his marriage forward and know details of the Christina's. As the names are somewhat common ones I would like to be sure my links are true.

Family History Beginners Board / 1911 did women make a stand?
« on: Saturday 14 March 15 08:17 GMT (UK)  »
I have be lead to believe that women refused to be recorded on census night 1911 as a protest to not having the vote by being 'out' when the recorders came round. Has anyone else have anything to substantiate this. It will explain why my female relatives were missing from the records.
Thanks  :)

Staffordshire / Agnes Harper, help im getting nowhere
« on: Sunday 17 August 14 04:38 BST (UK)  »
Agnes Harper was born 1877. Her name is on her daughters birth certificate so I know it is Harper. She is called a Widow on her death certificate and she died 15/6/1938. She was called Agnes Webb.
I have a note(unsure if correct) that says her father was David Harper a china merchant and her mother was Mary.
I have Agnes recorded on the 1901 census with her daughter Margaret and her husband? William Webb.

I have looked at the 1911 census no trace of any Agnes, William and Margaret (Webb)
I have looked at old census' to find the David, Mary, Agnes Harper family, nothing has come up
have checked the other Harper families with an Agnes

the Agnes belonging to Emma and Thomas still a family in 1901
The Agnes with mother Pamela is still together in 1901 so both can be eliminated.

Unsure where to go from here any pointers appreciated. She and her husband are the dead ends in my tree.
