« on: Thursday 14 November 19 16:47 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, my father did his National Service in 1956, with the Welch Fusiliers. I can't access his records as I don't have his army number. How do I go about finding this number? Any help would be welcome. Thank you in advance.

Lancashire / Williamson Tunnels Liverpool
« on: Sunday 01 April 12 21:36 BST (UK)  »
Hi Guys, this is a long shot, but hoping someone will be able to point me in the right direction.
I am a volunteer at the Friends of Williamson's Tunnels in Edge Hill Liverpool (we can be found on Facebook and also have a website). I have been told that the Territorial Army mapped out these tunnels many years ago. Does anyone know who would have these maps as the barracks are no longer there and who would I have to get in touch with to ask about the maps?
Thanx, Lynn xxx

« on: Monday 25 April 11 11:49 BST (UK)  »
Came across three strange names in my tree, would love someone try and help where they originated please. Right, I found my great auntie Annie married twice. In 1916, I have Annie Wood marrying Neils Peter Olsen. Then in 1932 marrying Karl Ronnholm. Then her daughter Mary C Olsen marrying Asbjorn A Thomassen. Does anyone know where I can find out where they come from? They don't sound very English to me. Thanx for reading, Lynn x

Hiya Rootschatters, need some help before I crack up. I am doing a Local History course on Liverpool. Now we are doing some murders that happened. The Black Widows or better known as the Skirving Street poisoners . I have been asked to find them on the 1881 census. I have looked for two nights and can't find anything. I have the entries from the criminal registers, but that is it. They are Catherine Flanagan and Margaret Higgins. For those who don't know the story or want to be refreshed, I have enclosed the link from the Liverpool Echo. if anyone can find them for me, I would be so grateful.
