US Lookup Requests / Mary Ann Gordon b.1850

Hi,

Mary Ann Gordon/Gorden married Edward Teague, 29 Jan 1866, Wolstanton, Staffordshire. On the marriage cert her father is recorded as Joseph Gordon (Forgeman).

On census from her marriage to death she states her birthplace as America.

This could be Mary Ann with her father on the 1861 -

Hi,

I'm looking to purchase an e-reader but not too sure which one to buy and would appreciate some guidance please.

The UK library service within our county offers e-books to download, which I would like to take advantage of as well as downloading from other sites. However it would appear that not all e-readers are compatible with the library service (Overdrive).

I've spoken to the library for advice but have received conflicting information from two people regarding which e-readers are compatible.

If anyone has used the UK library e-books service or has experience of e-readers then I'd be grateful of any assistance.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / GW & Mid Railway Button

Hi,

Today this button was unearthed in my garden. It would appear to be a button from a Great Western & Midland Railway uniform (GW&Mid). It is 24mm in diameter, not sure if it's made of nickel or brass.

Would any one be able to date the button or able to offer any other information please?

The back of the button is not very clear but it is stamped with Firmin & Sons (possibly Ltd) London.

Wasn't sure which board to post on, therefore could I ask a mod to move it if necessary please?

Hi,

Could sks help in finding who Frederick Darvell was please ? He married Dora May Claridge in 1920, Thame.

Obviously the best course of action would be to purchase the marriage cert but I'm helping someone with their tree who has very limited funds.

Fred and Dora divorced in 1927.

I have all information on Dora and therefore only need help with Frederick.
