Oxfordshire Lookup Requests / Nurser born Wardington
« on: Saturday 23 March 13 11:03 GMT (UK)  »
If anybody has access to the Wardington parish records I would be grateful please if you would check out the baptism of Thomas Nurser around 1774.  I also think there was a William Nusser baptised about 1740, who married Hannah James in Wardington 12 April 1768.  Nusser may be a transcription error for Nurser.  I will be grateful for any information available.

Thank you very much in advance.

Norfolk Lookup Requests / Rudds in east ruston and north walsham
« on: Sunday 24 January 10 13:10 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to trace two marriage records and thereby find the wife's maiden name in each.  I would be most grateful if anybody can help me please.

Ash Rudd (1793 - 1866) lived at East Ruston Hall and married Harriet (1803-1897).  They must have married around 1830 and had one son also called Ash Rudd.

John Rudd (1759 - 1836) married Mary of North Walsham (1766 - 1850) and they had two sons including Ash Rudd above.  I presume they were married around 1790.

Many thanks

Hertfordshire / William HANDLEBY/HUNDLEBY - buried Broxbourne
« on: Sunday 24 January 10 12:52 GMT (UK)  »
I have a obtained a copy of William Handleby's will from TNA and in the will he desires: "to be buried in Broxbourne churchyard near to the place where Wm Boss's body is deposited and that I may have an Arch and Stone over my Burial place like to Mrs Turk's who lies buried in the said churchyard".  I would be most grateful if anybody living near to the churchyard was able to check this out for me.  Is the grave still there, and is there a more detailed inscription on the gravestone?  I would also love to know if there are any other Handleby or Hundleby graves in this churchyard.  I know this is a tall order but I have now hit a brick wall with my family history. :(

« on: Sunday 03 January 10 07:43 GMT (UK)  »
I would be very grateful if somebody could check for George Hundleby, who was possibly baptised 5 April 1789.  I believe he was born in Crawley and that this is near Winchester.  I would love to know his parents' names and anything else you can glean from the record.

Many thanks
Susan

Sussex Lookup Requests / Crawley parish register 1789
« on: Sunday 03 January 10 06:22 GMT (UK)  »
I would be most grateful if somebody could check a potential baptism date for George Hundleby baptised 5th April 1789.  I am told he was born Crawley, Hampshire so I am a bit suspicious.  Have I made a mistake?  Is there a Crawley in Hampshire? :-\

Many thanks

Shropshire Lookup Requests / Taylor marriage look up please
« on: Wednesday 02 December 09 11:45 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to trace a marriage between Richard Taylor and Alice Whitfield in the Cherrington area of Shropshire and would be most grateful for any help that somebody can give me.  I had a reference indicating that they could have married in 1584 but it is now possible that the marriage wasnt until as late as 1625 - sorry this is a wide range of years.  I believe Richard Taylor lived in Cherrington but it may have been Great Bolas, Waters Upton, Tibberton or even out at Longdon on Tern, High Ercall, Wellington.  The marriage record will of course be in the place where Alice Whitfield came from and I don't have much indication of this I'm afraid.  I have checked all possible marriages for Staffordshire and Shropshire on the IGI.  I have also checked the following parish registers (although it is always possible that I have missed it!) Waters Upton, Tibberton, Edgmond, Great Bolas. :-\

Shropshire / Taylor and Tayleur
« on: Saturday 24 October 09 23:26 BST (UK)  »
The Tayleur/Taylor family lived in Shropshire in places such as Cherrington, Bolas, Edgmond, Longford and Crudgington.  I am interested in knowing more about this family particularly about Richard Taylor of Cheswell & Leasowes.

Shropshire / Juckes
« on: Saturday 24 October 09 23:17 BST (UK)  »
The Juckes family lived in and around High Ercall in Shropshire.  I have traced the family back to Thomas Juckes who was born around 1699 and was married to Eliza, who was buried 11 October 1740 in High Ercall churchyard.  I would be interested in hearing more about this family and would like to trace them back into the 1600s.
