Channel Islands Lookup Requests / Re: Elizabeth Moore - Guernsey
« on: Thursday 18 February 10 04:28 GMT (UK)  »
I just received Elizabeth Moore's obituary.  According to her age when she died, she would have been born around 1805-06.  I also found an IGA listing for a Everelder Shanley Moore b. 28 Jan 1809, christening; 6 Feb 1809 Saint Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands.  It lists her mother as Frances Moore but dosnt give fathers name.  Can someone do a look up in the Saint Peter Port for Elizabeth Moore?

Dublin / Too many Moore's
« on: Tuesday 16 February 10 00:33 GMT (UK)  »
My third great grandmother Elizabeth moore was married to Thomas Betts 1831 at St. Catherine's C of I in Dublin.  In Thomas Betts bible it states that his mother in law Mrs. Frances Moore was buried in St. Kevin's grave yard.  I found one burial record for a Frances Moore buried 7 Oct. 1854, 86 years old.  I have found numerous Moore's in all the Church's my Thomas and Elizabeth were mentioned in.  How do you sort out all the family groups?  Frances Moore's husband was said to be Christopher Moore.  The only information we have on him is he was wounded in India.  Since Elizabeth was married 1831, I am assuming that Christopher and Frances lived in Dublin at that time.  Are there any records I can check for that time period?

Thank you so much.  I have been looking for burial records for St. Kevin's, I never thought to check St. Peter's, so I did and found three possible matches for my Moore's.

Dublin / St. Kevin's grave yard

Can some one please tell me where I might find burial records for St. Kevin's grave yard in Dublin.  I am looking for a burial record for Frances Moore.  In my ggggrandfathers bible he recorded that his mother in law Mrs. F. Moore died and was buried in the grave yard of St. Kevins, Dublin.  He didnt list a date.  He did give 1853 as his mothers death date so Iam guesstimating his mother in law died around that time period, give or take a little also.  The church records at churchrecords irishgenealogy only give baptisms for St. Kevins.

Donegal / Licensed School House Glenely?
« on: Saturday 30 January 10 15:59 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for information on the Liscensed School House Glenely [/u] parish of Culdaff barony of Innishowen county Donegal.  This is where my gggrandmother Elizabeth Ida Betts was baptised, this information was recorded in her fathers bible, (by her father Thomas Betts who was a school teacher in Ireland).  Another entry in his bible states he moved to Grouse Hall June 1845 left Aug 1851.  Does anyone know of a web site that tells about these two places, The Liscensed School House and Grouse Hall.
