Donegal / Ballyshannon Coastguard Station Carrickboy Co. Donegalreg. No. 48852070
« on: Thursday 24 April 14 14:42 BST (UK)  »
I have just seen an item on -Buildings of Ireland National Inventory with photographs describing this station. My Grandmother and three of her siblings were born here between 1876 and1880. I have been trying to find info on this building for years nd I will try and attach a reply to me in 2008 from Tony Daly of Coastguards of yesteryear. Could this really be the same building? I would appreciate if anyone has any knowledge of this building.

Can anyone advise which R C parishes Quarry Rd and Prospect Hill Limerick, would have been in 1900 and 1890. My King ancestors lived there at these times.
I am still searching for my Grandfather John Kellys birth c 1974, father Timothy, mother Alice King. I assume my Grandmother met him when she lived in Limerick from 1890 until they married in Glasgow in 1900. I was hoping I might find details of the Kelly's in any parish records that are available.

You may have looked at these parish records on your visit -if not it would be worthwhile trying to get a search of Broadford R.C. parish records as Kyle Bridgetown is in Kilseily civil parish that is covered by Broadford R.C. parish. Broadford baptismal records start in 1844 See Link http://tinyurl.com/yctly6g

Thank you for your suggestion but I have found that these commisioned sites so far have not been worth the money. Any success I have had has been due to members of the rootschat forums help and expertise.

Many thanks to all who helped with my previous queries. With your help,  and following my visit to Ireland in 2010 I was able to get copies of my G Grandfather John King's marriage record and found the birth records of another three children. I am now searching for info on my Grandfather John Kelly born c 1874. I have been on a few pay sites but got nowhere at some cost!! There is a birth record on family search.org which could be my G  Grandparents daughter Margaret Kelly born 18 Aug. 1874 at Kyle, Bridgetown, Limerick Clare. Father Timothy Kelly mother Alice King. Perhaps she was my grandfathers sister. Is there likely to be any church records of that period that might record a baptism of John Kelly. Regards

Thanks for your reply. I keep having these senior moments where I forget what I have posted previously. I will try the Roscommon office and hope this entry is the one I want. I will confirm if it is.
Many thanks

I am trying to trace the birth record of the above person. Daughter of my G Grandfather John King and Kate Agnes Walsh. Born in Co. Sligo c 1881-1885. Her father was a coastguard and his service record shows he was stationed  on Mullaghmore. Two older siblings were born in Co.Sligo, births registered in Carney No 2 and Collon No2. Any help would be appreciated.

My great grandfather John King's address on his marriage cert in 1867 was given as Glin Kilrush. He was born in May 1840, can anyone tell me if there was a RC church in Glin at that time as I would like to find any details of his birth and poss parents marriage.
