Hi Mandy,

Thank you for your offer. However, I still haven't motivated myself enough to get back into research yet. When I get over my lazyitis, I might get in touch with you on here ;D.

Hi Mandy,
It was very interesting to see your message about your great uncle marrying Teresa Conlon. It might just be the boost I need to get back into family history research (I lost impetus when Covid came along and haven't been back since). If I can get my head on straight, I will look into the Conlons again. I will have to go through all my (copious) notes and see if I had any information on Teresa being in the poor house.

Thank you so much for possibly reigniting my interest in family history.

Wicklow / Re: Firstname used in USA was Delia, what is that short for?

It could have been short for Cordelia, but these days it is just a name in itself.

It could be that a) the person taking the details wrote it how they heard it
                        b) spellings were much more fluid than nowadays
                        c) I've misread the writing

I usually get these things wrong but I will have a try.

14th November, 1867.
Charles Mulloy. Father Barney Mulloy, Carpenter, Dumnaskia.
Mother. Mary Mulloy, formerly Gallagher.
7th column says The mark of Barney Mulloy, father, Dumnaskia

Hopefully someone who is better at this will come along soon.

Two very good sites for Dublin are Irish genealogy, ie, which has baptisms and later civil records and 1901/1911 census of Ireland from National Library of Ireland
