'ignoto' unknown ; mother is Maria Leandri.

Oh wow! Thank you. The mother's surname was all squashed up so it didn't look like Leandri and if father was unknown then that makes sense.

Thank you for all your help!

I'm becoming an expert on trawling through Italian documents, but still haven't conquered the handwriting.

Trying to decipher the two circled parts please. The first is the father's name, the second is the mother's surname.

Thanks for your assistance!

Just an update on this - the help with the deciphering helped me find a family tree and then documents to support it.  The bride's mother's maiden name in Canclini!

Thanks again!

Thank you both!  This makes sense to me and is probably going to be the best we can get. Just great to fill another gap on my relative's tree.

I appreciate your efforts!

Hi,

No translation needed - I just want confirmation of the names circled.

The first is the surname of the bride. The second and third are the last name and first name of the bride's mother.

All help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Jenni

Thanks Biggles, I appreciate you sharing what you’ve found.

I’ve got membership to a couple of genealogy sites and have tried wildcard searches and all sorts of tactics, but I just cant find any of them in 1861 or 1871.  It’s quite unusual!

Joseph Parker Speakman is in 2 private trees on Ancestry, with several records and sources acknowledged.  Have you contacted any tree owners?

One might be mine, but that doesn’t really answer my question. Why can’t I find them on the census? And what happened to Joseph’s siblings?

Lancashire / Help finding Speakman family on 1861 census
« on: Friday 29 May 20 01:11 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I've looked and looked but need some help with this one please.
William Speakman (b. Rostherne, Cheshire 1820) married Elizabeth PArker (b. Chipping, Lancashire 1832) in Liverpool in 1856. A month later they had my 2xGreat-grandfather, Joseph Parker Speakman in Liverpool.  They then had the following children, all born in Barton-upon-Irwell and verified on GRO.
Jane Elizabeth 1859 (unmarried with her father on 1881 census in Manchester)
Sarah Ann 1862
John Robert 1868
William George 1868 (died 1869)
Elizabeth died in Jan 1871 so she isn't on that census.William dies in 1894.
I can't find the family in the 1861 census and I can't find Joseph on a census until after his 1879 marriage to my 2xgreat-grandmother, Charlotte Conway.
Can anyone help locate these children on the 1861 and 1871 census?
Many thanks!
Jenni
