The advert is in Sligo Newspaper, 13th Feb 1956 its only a small notice.Mullaney and Gormley Sales.

This is the only only mention of the surname i can find.

The place of death is given as Lugdoon, which is in Doocastle i expect its the same place as on the Census as no Lugdoon Townland shown in 1901-1911. he died a single man aged 85yrs. In 1956 a Michael Tivnan of Lugdoon advertised for sale an amount of Hay, this is most likely his brother, i cant locate a death for him. There is no death notice for Batty in Newspaper  and as the death informant is noted as a neighbour who buried him its unlikely he had family left in the area. There will be no roads or farm names, if you were contacting people even today you would just address to name, Lugdoon, Doocastle, Ballymote Co Mayo.

If you Google Convent of Mercy Westport, you will find listed a Facebook page, you can click on the administrator  and read the comments from people that were brought up at St Columbias, even though this was from 1930's -1960's you can get a sense of the hardships they went through. The conditions when the Browne girls attended could only have been guessed.

Just for note the last part of the building in Westport is about to be demolished.  I have found during my research that families are often broken up after the death of parent usually the mother, the children normally are taken in by the mothers side, looks like Mary Kirby did have child Mary living with her at the time of death, i see there is a Headstone for Mary Kirby and her husband online  which is quite large, i imagine from this they were not poor.

Mayo / Re: Ellen O'Malley Near Hollymount, Mayo

There is a marriage for  Eileen* Morrin in Ballinrobe Dist 1947 to Thomas Omalley  the online view certs dont show up to 1947. There are 2 births to Morrin/Omalley in Ballinrobe  Michael 1948 and Patrick 1949.

The graves you mentioned address  Togher which is in Hollymount Dist plus she died after 1996 which again seems to be another clue. I have looked at the Newspapers for all the names and dates on the graves for an obituary but cant find any.

If you google Michael Omalley Togher Hollymount  there is a death notice for a man died 2004 died Luton from Togher, the age is 66 which matches 1948 birth, sadly only his own family mentioned no sibling or parents.

Michael Murray married Mary Timlin in Ballina 1931, he would have been around 50yrs and Mary also from same place would be around 45yrs  Michael died in 1958. I cant see any obituary for Michael Murray.

The death cert  will only show the birth date as given by the informant so may not be exact, thats if its on it at all. Have you done a DNA test may give you matches to narrow down your search.
