Hi,

Having another look I don't now think that 44 and 48 Denison were the same place, not that it matters too much in the context of the what we are looking for.

I wonder if 48 Denison Street Woollahra and 48 Denison Street Waverley the same address, the suburbs run into each other because Trove has a few other names popping up for the Waverley address around the 1900 era.

Added, looking a bit further I think 44 and 48 are most probably the same premises there was just some numbering changes as development happened which was common.

The 1901 NSW Census has for 48 Denison St Woollahra
CRISP ? (possibly an initial 'M') with 2 x females at the residence.

Hi,

The Official Hobart Town Gazette, Saturday, 15th September 1827 on page 5 has a mention of James WALKER, Private in the Veterans Corps called as a witness in a case against Charles MCQUEEN for selling spirits without a licence in Barrack Street.  James WALKER was mentioned as being an overseer in the Barracks.

Thanks M, looks like it could the correct place and it fits in pretty well with the family gold prospecting, but of way from Beechworth but people moved about from find to find.

I have a Victorian Birth Registration in 1859 and the place of birth was listed as, SYDNEY FLA.

Maybe around the Beechworth area.

Can anyone help with where SYDNEY FLA was.
