Flintshire / Re: Treuddyn (Tryddyn) Burial Records (Flintshire) missing online
« on: Friday 23 June 17 09:24 BST (UK)  »
I have visited the cemetery at St Mary's Church, Treuddyn and there is a gravestone confirming the burials for all three dates. I just want to have copies of the burial records for the family tree collection.
Looks like a trip to the County Records Office (although I like to have a few things to look for before a visit to justify time off work)
Thanks

Flintshire / Treuddyn (Tryddyn) Burial Records (Flintshire) missing online
« on: Friday 23 June 17 08:26 BST (UK)  »
I originally posted this in teh Common Room but think it's more appropriate here.

Hi, I have found many burial records for towns/villages in Flintshire but can't find any for Treuddyn. I believe the county records office have them on micrfiche but it's strange that they don't appear online like all others. Anyone else come across this (or better still have a copy)?  ???

Thanks for the prompt reply. They were living in Texas but not a part that survived though I guess!
Thanks 😀

The Common Room / Immigrants not appearing on 1890 America Census
« on: Tuesday 20 June 17 13:22 BST (UK)  »
Hi I don't currently have worldwide Ancestry access but in the past I have tried and failed to find my ancestors who emigrated to America in 1884 on the 1890 census. However, they appear of later ones.
Was there a time period you had to be in the country before inclusion on a census?
Any ideas? ???

The Common Room / Inconsistency on North Wales BMD website
« on: Wednesday 07 June 17 08:58 BST (UK)  »
Just for your reference, I have discovered an inconsistency with the North Wales BMD website (maybe the UKBMD is the same).
When I searched for a marriage using forenames and surnames nothing appeared. However, using the option of searching by first letter of surname I found the record (spelt exactly as my original search!).
So my point is don't give up when the search by forename and surname fails, try the other method. It worked for me and will hopefully work for you and save hours of searching and head scratching.
Good luck!

The Common Room / Re: Marriage Record Help
« on: Wednesday 07 June 17 08:52 BST (UK)  »
Hi, thanks all for your replies. I have ordered via GRO.
I wasn't previously aware of the search facility on the GRO website.
I wasn't sure of the maiden name re the marriage cert I'm chasing but by searching the birth records of one one her children the mother's maiden name is displayed and confirms my theory.
So its' a win win  :)
I will use this site so much more now.
Thanks again everyone
