There seems to be a bit of confusion over Bannockburn 'Burial Ground'

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission named St. Ninian's Churchyard as Bannockburn Parish Burial Ground which led anyone seeking the burial place (or commemoration on family gravestones) of any service personnel killed/died in WW1 to go searching in Bannockburn Cemetery.

Bannockburn Cemetery is a completely different place - it also has CWGC burials and not very far from St. Ninian's.

Stirling Archives would be the best place to enquire as (I think) they hold the burial registers for the Cemetery. From memory, St. Ninian's Churchyard's records are few and far between.

The closest would either be Sandymount or Tollcross Cemeteries, but Riddrie Park is also reasonably near.

Have you tried looking for a Death Announcement in the Glasgow Herald? Both the Herald and the Evening Times are online via Google Newspaper Archives, (although there's no 1912 issues for the Times) see:

The Marriage of Alison Moffat & William Thomson shows on SP as having taken place in Polmont, 1880.

I'm thinking that this might be Alison Moffat Thomson's grandparents?

Strangely, an Allison Moffat Thomson, wife of the late William Thomson, died 12th January 1946 (age 85) at 4 Park Crescent, Westquarter.

Could there be a connection?

The info came from a Death Announcement in the Falkirk Herald, 19th January 1946.

This lady had sons William, Robert & Alexander, daughter Mary (wife of Alec), grand-daughters Nan, Agnes & Elsie and great grandchildren.

I can send you a copy of the Intimation if it's of any interest.

Alison Moffat Thomson's birth shows on SP's index but is not available to view/download as it's within the 100 year privacy regulations.

You would have to order a certificate or visit a Registrar's Office and transcribe the details.
