Berkshire Lookup Requests / Re: Eamer family from Berkshire.

Yes I've checked all the births and they all match with mother's name Goddard. Glad you agree with the error on mother's name.
With regard to his name, maybe the parents were in disagreement over his name so registered one and baptised him another. Then later in life he decided to make it simple and be Edward or Ted.  Who knows but its been a confusing search.
Thanks again

I have looked very thoroughly into the Eamer family.
I can find Frederick and Ellen on the Electoral rolls but still not on the 1911 census.
I will take back that something could have been wrong in the family because Frederick and Ellen  seemed to have lived at 4 Rose Court at least until 1924.
He died in 1926 and as the death record says, he was baptised as Frederick Daniel and shows on the Electoral registers as Frederick Daniel - however, he must have been known as Edward or even Ted, and was registered under the name Edwin Daniel.
On FindMyPast, I found a birth registration for Edwin Daniel and a baptism for Frederick Daniel at St Paul's church. On the baptism record, the mother's name is Annie - I hope that is wrong otherwise it throws the whole thing up in the air again.
On Ancestry, I have records showing Daniel Eamer (Edwin's father) was married to Ellen Rummey.
After looking very carefully at transcripts and actual records, I can see that the Vol and Page numbers have been matched up wrongly.
I am now sure that Daniel Eamer married Ellen Goddard, Sep 1864 in Wokingham,  Ellen Rummy married David Page in Sep Qtr 1864 in Bradfield.

Thanks so much for that. If only these ancestors knew what a problem they cause us.  I'll look at the Census again and see if anything else comes up.
Thanks again

Thank you again - just looked up 1911 census and the Holloways at Peach Street. Pity the rest of the grandchildren aren't with them!

Thanks - that does seem a likely possibility.

Thank you MarysInMyTree

The entry for Lily at the Palmer Church of England school is very interesting.  I found the first entry but couldn't find the other one - is it on the same page?

Its really strange that I can't find the family on the 1911 census  - the children were only small.  I've seen the school admissions for Lily Eamer in 1911 and 1913.
I've looked at alternative spellings - I think something may have been wrong in the family.

As mentioned by reply from GIBEL and SHAUN J:-

I now have the death certificate for Thomas Challinor -  17th May 1847 - so he was deceased when his son James got married in Nov 1847.
He was 68 - a dairyman - which I think can be related to cowkeeper - he died of Dropsy although it says not certified. the witness on the death certificate is Luke Fairclough, who I know to be his son-in-law.
So I'm really pleased with all your help to have solved that part of the puzzle!!

Now to crack the Johnsons!!

Sorry I have written two replies but I think I keep losing them as another message comes through.
Thanks for all the replies.
Lily (Lilian) Seyboth was in a hospital and William Seyboth got a divorce on the grounds of Mental illness.  He re-married in Mar Qtr  1843 to a Daisy Catling or Caitling.
And yes I think Lily did die in this hospital.
I will look at all your replies and see what I can put together.

Thank you - that's all so helpful.
