Hi Barry, Thank you for the reply. Finding your post was a surprise to say the least, I have been researching this (my) family over many years. So I can confirm what kenjo has posted, Our timelines converge with the Pirie Family Robert and Mary who had at least 7 daughters and one son, you are descended from Isabella and I from Bathia. Isabella died in 1948 in the Old Mill Hospital Aberdeen.

Hi Barry Emmott,
I have gone into scotlandspeople too. This is what I have found for you.
[Birth
Margaret Ann Elrich Pirie, Illegitimate,  born 5 pm, at 52 Mid Street, Fraserburgh, Aberdeen. on the 20th July 1882.....
Mother Isabella Pirie, Domestic Servant.
Isabella did try for Paternity of the father sometime the next year.

MARRIAGE
ISABELLA PIRIE to GEORGE ALLAN
on the 20th January 1884, at 46 Regent Quay, Aberdeen.
George Allan General Labourer, 21yrs.living at 3 Canal Lane Aberdeen.
Isabella Pirie, 22yrs, Domestic Servant.living at 8 West North St, Aberdeen.
Georges father was John Allan and mother was Jessie Allan Maiden name Thain.
Isabellas father was Robert Pirie and Mary Pirie Maiden name Johnston.
TAKE NOTE OF GEORGES ADDRESS.................above.

Birth
Isabella Pirie 9/4/1860 Strichen
Mary Ann Pirie 18/5/1858
Bathia Pirie 24/2/1862
father of above Robert Pirie
mother Mary Johnston ..they married 3 Dec 1857 Strichen.

I feel quite sure the above certificates are correct. Even though it makes Margaret 16 and a half when she married.
But for her to be born the date you mentioned and also in the right town and also, when she married , she used the name Pirie,  which was her  mothers maiden name.
If you did find the right Allan family in the 1891c she will probably be listed as an Allan, George would have excepted her as his own.   (not sure if you have found the right family though)
But when they marry they do tell the truth.
If you want these certificates, I can send them jpeg. to you.
I also have the Pirie family in the 1881census in Fraserburgh.
I'll list the children later.
I have to go.
Love to hear your opinion.

Bathia Pirie mentioned above is my Great Great Grandmother,Her Illigitimate Daughter Mary Jane Pirie was my "Granny Smith" who died in Kintore on 22july 1971 aged 92. Does anyone know if Bathia ever married and if so to whom. I like many others are greatly looking forward to publication of the 1911 census by scotlandspeople.
