hi again, and thanks for replying.
I live in llay and my wife's family were born and bred here, so if i can help in anyway from this side ( photos etc ) feel free to ask. it seems they did indeed spend a lot of time travelling back and forth . I wonder what they did, where they stayed when back over here. albert was mentioned a few times within the family as the man who worked on niagara falls, and price as the brother who went with him but came home. no mention of him working in a notorious prison though. think i need to try and find out more about him. I  will have a look to see if i can find you on facebook,

good evening everyone.
my wife is the great granddaughter of their sister gertrude. I am currently trying to find out more on these brothers. I know albert worked for a power company and family rumours are that he actually did some work on the falls. I have recently found out that rice was a captain of the guards at sing sing. We actually live in LLay and maybe able to help regarding the area. I don't know when this original post is from but hopefully some of you are still members here and this message will get through to you all.
  thanks

hallmark,
thank you for both of those links, unfortunately the book is slightly out of my price range atm but now i know that it exists, i will keep my eyes open for  it elsewhere. also the pic of his grave, i am extremely grateful.
farrac,
i do know that he was The sole adjacent for William Furness & Co., Saw Mill Engineers, of Liverpool. and may well have been an agent for other firms also, though i haven't been able to confirm that yet.

Glamorganshire / barry employment records
« on: Saturday 18 July 15 11:13 BST (UK)  »
hi all,
doing some research for a friend and trying to find employment records for one of her rellies. on the 1911 census he is listed as a tug boat driver in barry, his death cert in 1943 states he was a retired tug driver for great western railway. i seem to remember that rail workers records are available somewhere but the old grey matter can't remember where. does anyone havw access to, or let me know where i can access any of the records which may be relevant?
thanks
steve
