Sligo / Re: William Henry

Hi Kiltaglassan.

Yes those are  the correct connections. Mary Anne Black was the daughter of my gt grandfather's sister Jane Livingston, and Thomas Black. It was my Livingston tree that had the same dates of death for William Henry but I did not have his place of death (or had assumed it was Sligo). The information came from a Livingston relative living in Sligo.

Marguerita died 1996 widow of Thomas Lockhart. There was also a brother William T Henry who died in Sligo in 2003.

Hi Sibbie

My father and I were in contact in the early 1990s with Ethel Broderson,  a descendant  of the KatiKati Henry's and we did put together quite a lot of Henry informaion back then. Ethel wrote to the 1st Antrim Presbyt. Church in 1993 and they passed her letter on to one of William's granddaughters  Alice Scott.

Thomas Henry  was an older brother of William Henry, and he came to NZ in 1886 with his wife and older children and they settled in Katikati. Another brotehr John, second son of Bryce Henry appears to have come to NZ in 1866 and settled in the South island.

Thank you Neale for alerting me to this post.

I will look at the post which I made in Co Down though our bryce henry was in Dunsilly Antrim. It was only when I found that Bryce was part of the Henry family from Shanrod Co Down that I posted there.

Yes I know Bryce Henry         b 22  May 1889   m 1915 (NZ) Violet Ellen Parlett and died 1948

My gt grandmother born Dunsilly was a granddaughter of Bruce Henry born c180 2 and she came to NZ with my grandfather in 1905.

Cheers

Linda

The 1911 census record for Ellen Nevin shows 4 children born and 3 alive. The two children listed with Ellen and John Nevin were his children born after they married in 1901. So it looks like one of Ellen's two children Sarah and Robert Bryson  born before 1901 was still alive in 1911. I can see one Sarah Bryson aged 14 listed as a visitor in Owensland in 1911 who would be a possibility.

Looks like Martha Gordon registered the birth of Ellen's daughter Sarah so that does fit.

This could be the same Ellen Bryson in Ballymena unmarried  in 1901. Son Robert aged 2 and daughter Sarah aged 5.

Thank you Kiltaglassan

So I wondered if this marriage af an Ellen Bryson daughter of Robert is relevant. I suspect the husbands surname is Nevin as Nivin is not in census.

OK that worked so next death of Ellen Jane Bryson of Ballybracken  in 1894. It says her father was Alexander Byrson and her sister Sarah J Bryson registered the death

So not a daughter of William Bryson.

Which Ellen Bryson record do you mean  Gilby? Alive where in 1901?
