Hi Laurel
Thank you so much for all that. It is very possible that John may have married in Boston. I gather from the info I have, that John's father died in 1954 in his early 50's so it may have been his father who worked in the Steel company. John jr was a salesman in later life for food companies so the Tea company seems on the right track :). Iris moved to the Boston area after her husband died and is buried there, while her husband is buried in Vermont.
I would be delighted if you would pm me on the info you found as ,I too, do not want to hurt anyone because of this being recent events, and I really appreciate all the info you have given me. The fact of being in Ireland means its harder to search when I am not up to speed with the US records :)
Thank you so so much
Cath :)

Hi Steve

There is a high chance that he did lie about his age ;D, but I don't think this is him as his mothers name is incorrect. She was Iris King. Or would he have given a wrong name??? ??? He was in the Korean war in the US airforce to the best of my knowledge.

thanks so much Steve

US Lookup Requests / US Marriage & Divorce lookup please

Hi,
I am looking for help please! :)

My Uncle John Joseph Hill was born in Brighton Ma 23 March 1931 and died in Milton Ma, Aug 1999. I was researching his "first marriage" to Joyce Elinor Shippee on 23 April 1955, which took place in Hinsdale, New Hampshire, when I discovered he was already divorced at the age of 24!! He was living in Brattleboro, Vermont at this time. He subsequently married again in 1964 ::) (His mother was Iris King, and father also John J Hill)

While I have details from marriage #2 & #3, I would love some help to find out who was his spouse in marriage #1, which must have taken place prior to 1955, and to see if there were children of this marriage. Any help or direction you could give me would be greatly appreciated as I am unsure as to how to proceed
Thank you in advance :)

US Lookup Requests / Help required for New York Marriage Record lookup please
« on: Friday 11 May 18 10:17 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

A friend of mine has ancestors who married in New York in 1921. They are Birdie Lynch and John Driscoll who married in Kings, 5 June 1921. He has found them on the New York marriage index possibly registering their intent of marriage 14 May 1921. Is it possible to find out their parents names please? Any help greatly appreciated. :)

Many thanks

Thank you barryd and iluleah.

The Michael Callahan attached is not the right one but you sent me on my way so I really appreciate it! I think I may have found the correct one, but going by Callaghan ??? and the date seems to be 1902 and not the 1908 which was listed on a passenger listing! Those elusive ancestors of mine were not straight forward!!!

Thank you both again, I really appreciate your help :) :)

Hi
Your help would be greatly appreciated!

My great grand uncle Michael Callahan was naturalised  in the Circuit Court in Boston on Sept 26th 1908. Can these be viewed online as I do not live in the US?

Many thanks in advance :)
