Dumfriesshire / Re: Currie Family - James Currie & Jane Sloan, Annan Parish
« on: Saturday 02 December 17 19:17 GMT (UK)  »
Thank you Gadget for confirming the information I have on Jane Sloan and her daughter, Margaret Currie McGibbon Sutton. The newspaper article about the death of James was new and I have added the information to my family tree.
Other than the fact that Margaret married William Sutton in 1898 in New Zealand I have no further info on him. Do you have any per chance?
cheers, Nan

Hi Sue,
I had another look today on Ancestry for her but cannot find anything. Would you please give me exact instructions. Thank you.
Check out the website: www.gravestonephotos.com. If you go to ST. John's in Ballachulish you can see pictures of many of the Clark and family gravestones. I found the site interesting.
cheers, Nan

Hi Sue,
It was nice to hear from you again. You have provided me with a few new details to check out. I didn't know of any connection to the Isle of Sell or the various names used by Ann McGregor's father.
How did you learn about them?
Cheers, Nan

Thank you Katherine. I'll see how far I can get on my own but I might have to contact you .

Thank you so much for these tips. I can read the printed text of old German but struggle with handwriting. We recently acquired copies of baptismal certificates for great grandfather's 10 siblings. I hope I can now decipher the names and other pertinent information.
Regards, Nan

Hello Beanie
Just by chance I came across this posting. I'm wondering if you would be willing and able to check for gravestones for some members of my Currie clan. There is no rush. There are 8 plots that I am interested in.  That means a lot of walking and searching as they are in all different parts of Southern Cemetery.I don't know whether there are gravestones but I will send you the plot information and names if you are willing to do to take a few photos for me.
Kind regards, Nan
