I really dont think that the 1851 and 1861 are the same people. I cant see why your Charles would be born in Staffordshire.

If you sent for Frederick Bennett and Ann Mason's marriage certificate - March quarter 1852 Greenwich 1d 624 that might confirm it one way or the other as it will probably say if Frederick's father was still alive.

I emailed. they do not think that my Bennett's are from Kent, and do indeed believe they were from Staffordshire... interesting.

I will look over it all again tomorrow as its very late here.
Do you have any NZ Death Certs for your Family Gary?
I hope I havent led you down the garden path.

Trish :)

Hey Trish! I will go up to the sunny coast soon ask my father about death records. I will also have a look over the things he has given me, because i am sure he has linked me to grave sites with g-stone photo's.

Hi Jan!

My father would have more knowledge about our relation to Stafforshire, however I personally, All of this is VERY new to me. I knew i had English relatives, but 24 hours prior to my first post, i thought they were all up Durham north east way, an spoke with that proper geordie accent like, whey-aye man. haha

I am putting up a Tribal Pages family tree, and knowing it is public forum, i will not post anything in detail about any living persons.

Once i have the core foundations of it, i will display the link for your perusal and maybe even tell me where i may be incorrect.

Thank you again, for all of your work! I don't know how to thank you. This has all excited myself and my father very much

This information is all too good to be left un-published.

If anyone has and suggestions to an online tree-builder, if there is of such, that doesn't cost the world like the Ancestry.com ones, i would be again, greatly appreciative.  :D ;D

This is amazing. You have found Charles father, AND Grandfather...

Making George Bennett my Great x 6 Grandfather. Now branching to Devon. I know there is an extensive library of the Bennetts in Devon, so this has been an absolute find! Incredible!

Hi Ryan, welcome to Rootschat

Is this your William?

....
I cant see Sarah. How did you find her on Jersey?

Hi Groom!

Thank you so much for the result. That indeed looks like my William. Interesting as to how he fell into the same line of work as his father.

The claim that Sarah, his mother, moved to Jersey with him, is purely from an un-confirmed source who also believes it is only alleged. See bottom of this post for the information I aquired this from.

Welcome to Rootschat Ryan,
I am a bit confused as how you have birth Dates for Charles and Sarah if you dont know their Parents names?

Hi Trish! Amazing bunch of information there, and that certainly is my Charles! I'm incredibly blown away with what you have found!

Your questioning as to how i know their birth dates, is answered much like Groom's query, from an unconfirmed source... see link below.

The aforementioned link comes from an unknown person, obviously from my Family, tracing the same things I wish to. I do not know whom posted this, and being 2008, i don't think they will be able to be contacted through this site :(

I hope this helps! I'm filling this tree brilliantly!

Trish! I cannot believe you have found Charles' father!!!! I'm amazed!

Hi.

I am approaching my 25th birthday, and have now a huge sleepless urge to know more and more about the people who walked before me with my name. Please help me. I am moving to England in Septmeber of this year (2011) and it would be amazing to walk in those streets with a richer bond.

This is what I've known so far.

We will start with the earliest.

Charles Bennett
born 18.12.1796***
Marries
Sarah Blackhall (b. 17.6.1799***)

They have 5 Children Charlotte, Caroline, John Thomas Blackhall, William, Frederick. Frederick (born circa 1832, in Deptford, London) Will meet Ann Mason born of Hampshire at an unknown date. They have two children in England. Frederick Jnr Bennett and William George Bennett. ***Meanwhile his mother Sarah Blackhall leaves Charles, father,  and moves to live with her son (Frederick Snr's Brother) William Bennett, in the Jersey Isle.

Frederick Snr & Ann Bennett (nee Mason) along with 2 sons, leave England for New Zealand on the Solent 1857 bound for Auckland (They had 6 more children in NZ, kate, thomas blackhall, emily, rachel, rebecca and frances)(Frederick Snr died 1897, 16 June, in Tararu NZ). I am more interested in the earlier years of my family History. I am looking for more information about Charles and Sarah, occupations, registry, parents. What was William doing in the Jersey Isle? etc...

Post New Zealand arrival is something easier gained, so i do not need help in this department.

Help me learn more about my Great great great great grandfather and grandmother.

Thank You in advance for your time, and if you have any information, I will be humbly grateful. :) :D
