The Lighter Side / Re: Unfortunatel names

Many years ago when Tony Blackburn did a morning show on radio 1, he had an odd name competition where you had to produce a birth certificate to prove validity. The winner was Percy Pitchfork.

Hi, I have a Nokia charger ACP-12X which I believe will do the job so if you PM me your address, I will post it to you.

Hi, may I suggest Rootsmagic which I have on an Android version. There is a free version you could try and see if you like it and an enhanced version you pay for.

Hi, thank you all very much for your help. I am now more confident that we have the right people.  A familiar story, I guess, my daughters got me started in genealogy but late in life after the people I needed to question had gone. So many unanswered questions!

Hi Gadget, my brother grabbed all the family photos when my parents passed and unfortunately I have had limited access to them since he died too. I have one which I think is my mother quite young and another from 1941/42(age 17/18) so I'm not sure if they are much help. The following is a link to my grandmothers photo, again probably not a great deal of help. She died of cancer in 1942 aged 36.

Hi Eggy1948, thank you for another super job. I am hoping that this gorgeous couple are my mother and her mother by I suspect I'll never know for certain.

Hi, I have got access to this photograph from my late brother's collection but unfortunately no information along with it. I am hoping it is my mother Jane b2-1-1924 and her mother Georgina b8-7-1905. Any information would be welcome, thank you.

Hi, following on from Forfarians post, Oldscottish.com have the minutes of a Poor Law appeal by Jean Gray or Smith (which was refused). I'm not sure if you'll find any useful information. They will charge £3 for a copy of the minutes from 1850.
