Thanks for the reply,
Yes i have tried the CWGC and i have a full list of all named German servicemen buried in the UK. Unfortunately they do not list any of the unknown graves. I have contacted them again but i am unsure they hold the information. I am waiting for their reply so posted for help on here as well.

Graveyards and Gravestones / German War Grave in Bridlington Cemetery

Can anyone help? do you know if there is an unknown German War grave (EIN DEUTSCHER SOLDAT) in the war grave plot at Bridlington Cemetery. I know 4 German airmen were buried there in three graves on 19 August 1940. The two named airmen were transferred to Cannock Chase in 1964-66, i am lead to believe the two unknown in the one grave are still at Bridlington? I am planning a visit to the area on Sunday for research for my book and don't want to spend hours searching for something that is not there.

I have requested the information from the council but as yet i have had no reply.

Gloucestershire / VAD red cross nurses
« on: Friday 25 November 11 13:26 GMT (UK)  »
Would any one have any information on two VAD nurses i am researching. They both worked at the racecourse hospital Cheltenham during WW1. I have contacted the British red cross society for service records and i am awaiting a reply.

The nurses are Miss M McClymont Reid who was mentioned in dispatches.

Dorothy Edith Griffith-Jones who lived in Cheltenham when she died in 1962. I also have a thread open on Dorothy in the Bedfordshire section where she lived as a child. And have gaind some useful information.

Any information or photos of the nurses would be most helpful.

I know, i bought the medals after the auction finished from a dealer and started to search for any information on Dorothy, was gutted when i found the auction house that sold all the family history, i would have loved have kept it all together. I hate to see family history being broke up like that. But never mind, the search goes on.  ;)

Thanks again Dazey, picture of Dorothy's brother is very interesting as i have a picture of who i believe to be her Nephew, Philip P Griffith-Jones and the family resemblance is very apparent.
