You will also see on 1861 census the STEEL girls who are also related.  :)

Looks like ggggrt granny Grace Baird, looked after quite a few family members ...   8)

Two direct ancestors of mine died at 2 Charlotte St in 1914, James and Elizabeth Baird.

Can't see any direct relationship, sorry.  :-\

Wow, your Grt Granny is one of my missing branches, I would love to know the next few generations.

You are correct about Margaret Baird being related to my Thomas Baird, she was his sister.

She married John Neilson and had 8 kids, when she died, he married Catherine Twaddle, your Great Grannies mum.

I believe your grt granny had two sisters and a brother.

Hi Did the Steels attend boarding school in Ayr? It looks like it was run by a relative of Mary Baird.

Some interesting family people in the school and boarding house over the years.   ;)
