Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: Death certificate help please
« on: Thursday 20 September 12 13:46 BST (UK)  »
Thanks

Looking again I can see Lampman, would it be normal around the mid fiftys to include name and occupation of father? or would mothers details be on there as others saw this part as another name.

The informant was her second to youngest son who could, I suppose, have known him as grandad "Ed or Ted" and associated it with Edward as opposed to Edmund if that sounds feasable

Hi can anyone help to confirm or rewrite my interpretation of this part of my grandmothers death certificate?.
I read it as " 23 St Michael St Sutton in Ashfield, House keeper ( domestic) spinster
Daughter of Edward Bryan colliery labourer (deseased)

Furthermore the only records I can find that match  for my gt grandfather show as an "Edmund" Bryan in the expected location and with a daughter Jane with the correct DOB. would that be expected or am I being thrown off on a tangent as there was some sugestion they were of recent (circa 1850) Irish decent?
Thanks

Hi
new to here and to the family tree business.
I have traced my great great granfather in  the 1871 census and need a little help figuring out what it says in the ocupation field. I can make out  "52 ?????"  and I think "1 man farmer and publican" but what is the ?????. ?
