Hi  Jon     re henry king 1649,     there is lots of info on him on the    wharfegen.org.         Family History,   if you explore the web site.     all around Embasay  Skipton   there are henry, william, and john family trees.. there is a henry king 1606-1626 too if that helps...   wharfgen.org is free to join with donation if desired.. this a long shot also.... if you google  www.wharfegen.org.uk    free to join [donate]    just search surname only  slingsby       you get 184 hits  4 pages   click on any of them for info..... they are all in bradford area or nearby.... hope this helps in some way.  good hunting,   lots around 1800s..

What an interesting post,  when my Mum died in childbirth in 1938, I, being the youngest, born 1937, along with my  siblings, were placed in the Headingley Orphanage because father could not possibly cope.  If anyone has any information of the following I would be most grateful.;-
Me  Florence lily CULLUM,   Harry,   Margaret,   Betty,   Jack,  We would have been in the home between  1938/45.  Betty stayed in there and  later went on to  become Matron.
Three other children were taken in care by other Family members namely,   Dorothy,  Joyce and Jim who were twins.    Appreciate any help with records/lists  etc.        Regards   Flo

Hi Amanda,  according to Wharfegen.org.UK.   Family history,  there were lots of "Brotherton" lived in Kirby Malham near Skipton.   The church,  St  Michael`s has a large graveyard.    worth checking out... Give them an email. All Yorkshire people are friendly :) ;)    Good hunting.  Bert.

Hi ,  I grew up in Louis ave little Horton many years ago, memory not the best, but there is/was a mill in little Horton lane not far from Quaker lane called Brigella mills, there was also a smaller weaving shed behind the old " black bull" pub.  there were heaps of mills in the great Horton rd area. hope this jogs someones memory
