Derbyshire Lookup Requests / Re: Who was Jane Short?
« on: Wednesday 19 April 23 20:40 BST (UK)  »
Thank you for the additional information.

My son in law and I were discussing his short ancestors yesterday.

Lawrence son of  the Reverend Lawrence short enlisted with the east india company. He became a coffee plantation owner in south india. All his descendants remained in India until 1947.  My son in laws mother married and moved to Pakistan. She died in Oregon.. USA.

I have searched and searched and find it impossible to find out where john short of madras came from. And no information on his wife.

Thank you.

John jenkins kept the judiciary busy . I knew  hed been sued for bankruptcy but not the other cases.
Eleanor was a deacon of her chapel.

To get to know john you will find 20 pages about him in the book the old farmhouse by d Williams who credits john with his early education.

 Esgairdawe but thats hear say.

I was well aware of john and Nelly s life at the inn and their offspring but have only recently found that they both hailed from esgairdawe..

A pet irritation is seeing someone has copied a photo from your tree to theirs stating it's someone else
