Hello there,
I am new to roots but have found so much info that I am amazed. My x5 great grandfather was James Bell Dow. I have only just found this out.
I am thrilled to have names, dates etc but would now like to find out about them as real people with work and family lives. Obviously James came from a large family but I would so like to find out more any ifo would be great.
Many thanks
Jan :)

Gosh what a response. Thank you all so very much, I am over whelmed at  how many people have helped. I have only just started on this journey to trace my family in Scotland but it seems that I have a long way to go given how much info you all seem to have.
Much appreciated.

Hello I am new to Roots so appreciate any help/advice given. I am trying to trace info about  my grandfather George Greig Dow who was born in Glasgow. I know he had sisters but cannot find any info about them. I am also trying to find info about my great x4  paternal grandfather Lawrence Skene Dow who lived in Leith and married a Rebecca Turnbull.
Any info will be much appreciated.
Many tnanks
