US Lookup Requests / Re: Need Help - Found Original Notes - Katherine Marie Meisner**
« on: Thursday 05 December 19 19:17 GMT (UK)  »
Hello ~
Yes as of date both my father and I have posted DNA on ancestry.com. I'm on 23 and me and a few others out there.  Only recently have I seen connections to my fathers side, but they are 5-6th cousins.  Which isn't bad but they link to mostly his fathers side and this would be connections we need on his mothers side. Yet we'll keep searching.

Thanks for ideas...any and all are always welcome.

Hi Ian ~
I'm back with more questions.  I've read all the past notes and viewed the links and census (eyes are starting to bug out...lol) but I'm really starting to wonder about something...

Here we go...

On the records that show Marie or Mirah, etc as being born I believe 1894 or 1895 and passing away within the next year...I'm just wondering if that isn't actually my great grandmother.

I'm wondering if his wife Maren Sorenson had the affair in Denmark with Sonke Matteson and when meeting up with Meisner in the US lied to him about the baby...when he discovered the truth...she not him turned the baby into the orphanage and told him the baby died while traveling out to meet up with him.   Or something like that...cause this whole Michagin and Colorado thing and only some of the family knowing of my ggmother it's just fishy and no one is alive that remembers her or the stories.  Just wondering how to put a truthful timeline together...it's really suspicious how the last 3 girls she had were all named Marie...no??? and how they didn't live more than a year....

Maybe someone can steer me in a direction?

Any help is always appreciated...love you guys!

Happy Holidays to all
Tara

Ian -
I'm confused....who lived together in USA? Peter Meisner and Maren Sorenson???? Do tell...can you share that link with me? I'm still trying to fit an exact timeline together because my great grandmother didn't know Peter Meisner wasn't her biological father until she applied for social security! I'm also trying to find her records when he put her into the orphanage...so any additional info would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks
Tara

P.S. My great grandmother was Marie Katherine Meisner....the product of the affair with Sonke Matteson.

Good Evening Jool ~
First I want to thank you for post #36!!! I followed those two articles to a "T"...and hit pay dirt :)

I have updated my tree and records regarding Myrtle Ethel Sanders b. Adams and now see how it all flows. There's still a gap of 4 years (1922 to 1926 ) most if not all her records show she never left the state of AZ.

Here's what we have now:

b. November 1 1906 Arizona
d. March 1996 Globe Arizona

Biological Parents were: J O Adams and Mary Jane Mattie Dunn

Mattie married Albert Sanders in 1914 and 3 months later died. In 1915 Sanders legally adopted Myrtle.
In 1921 Myrtle gives birth to Florenda. In 1922 Albert Sanders dies.

Between 1922 and 1926 I don't see where she lived.  However, the town where all these people lived was strictly a mining town and everyone worked for the mine in some fashion.  This is the same town where my great grandfather  Thomas Merrigan worked as a crane operator. It's pretty safe to say everyone probably knew everyone.  Now where Myrtle ended up living during those 4 years and with whom...well that I don't know...she was somewhere and with a young infant. I'm guessing that's where and when the Deane's come into the picture.

Thank you again Jool...very helpful information.

Now I know my cousin is still trying to find additional family to Florenda but it doesn't appear to be so....we'll see...you never know. :)

Many thanks
Tara

Hi Michelle, I understand what you say about Thomas being found not guilty based on the testimony of children, not entirely reliable.  I also appreciate that your focus is on Florenda and her potential children to try to establish the facts.

Regarding Myrtle, you may want to look at this record on Findmypast.

Myrtle Eva Sanders
Age 17
Birth year 1907
Father Wm Sanders
Mother Ethel Mcclure
Marriage 18 Aug 1924
San Benito, California, United States
Spouse Herbert A Erickson
Spouse age 21
Spouse birth year 1903

There is also a death of Myrtle Eva Cuthbert (Myrtle Eva Sanders) on Ancestry
Birth Date 18 Mar 1907
Birth Place California
Death Date 12 Nov 1995
Death Place Madera
Mother's Maiden Name McClure
Father's Surname Sanders

I haven't found what happened to husband Herbert Erickson or when she married Mr. Cuthbert

Good luck and let us know how you get on  :)

Jool
These were the two documents I had which because of the middle name said was not the Myrtle we were looking for. So I'm confused...I had Myrtle's mother as McClure and the only information I haven't been able to find was if the Myrtle I'm looking for ever married a Cuthbert...that was the only piece of this puzzle I didn't have yet.

I greatly appreciate the points you've made as I hate going in circles or as you put it going of track only to find out where I started out was the correct point.  Before computers I did a lot of that...lol!!!

Before I delete incorrect information or correct information can we clarify or help confirm for me the Dunn/Adams connection or should I keep the McClure/Cuthbert connection? I'm starting to get a bit confused...

Thanks for the clarification...

Do you have a link to this information? I couldn't find it...
This is the link I have and as you can see the name was adjusted but it states Eva not Ethel as a middle name.
These two Myrtles are cross referencing everywhere and I'm having trouble confirming which one she actually is, as Jool pointed out, and is correct.

Thanks so much

My Myrtle's mother is Ethel McClure and father is Wm. Andrew Sanders their both from CA.
I show documents with these names on them and cross referenced back to Myrtle Sanders.

So far the names connected are the McClure's, Merrigan's, Sanders and Deane's - just don't know why there's a connection to Minnesota or Arizona other than the Deane's came from Minnesota and supposed father of her child is Merrigan and that's where he and his family all came from.

I'm getting dizzy with the Myrtle Sanders from Minnesota...

Thanks for all the hard work but I need sleep now... :)

My cousin (Michelle) whose been helping and mostly leading this search has reached out to some of the Mounce children and their grandfather...hopefully we'll be able to gain some insight soon.

Update:
So I have been able to confirm the Myrtle Sanders involved in love triangle murder in 1923 is not my Myrtle.

However we did find another Myrtle that was on the 1920 census listed as a foster daughter...this could actually be my minnesota connection.

It was also made clear that her mothers maiden name is McClure from CA.

I think Myrtle was a bit of a trouble maker and was sent to foster families.

It also appears the Deane's raised Flora saying her mother was her sister....

Thats what I currently have
Thanks everyone...

PS anyone been able to find or figure out if Flora ever had children? So far I cant find anyone.

Thanks again
