Hi George,
I do not know if he knows we exist, from the info ive gotten from my father. I believe that his mother had started a relationship with his now adopted father and that they had agreed between themselves that he would bring my half brother up as his own. Although his mother gave him my father's christian name, I do not know if he knows that he has 4 other sisters via his natural father.
It's been a very hard one as the youngest of my sisters isnt sure if she wants to meet him mainly because he is only 3 months older than she actually is and for her this was a hard pill to swallow. However she is also curious and moreso now since mum has passed on so we no longer have to keep this secret between ourselves. Dad has never met him and from conversations we have had with him, I feel that he now feels that he is now in his late 80's and has been hidden away from the only son he ever had.
I would very much like to chat about your experience and maybe get some insight on how we may move forward.
Many thanks

Marie

have found the mother and step/adoptive father but they only ones at that address so no further forward. Not sure if they'd be happy me contacting them and saying hi id like to speak to my brother lol.
Will keep looking though and hopefully can come up with something.
Thanks so much with all your advice guys, will let you know if I actually succeed

So it is.  Depressingly common in the US as well, as I've discovered, having spent two days fruitlessly searching for one.

think this is going to be a fruitless one for me too especially the way is going  :(

scotland, the person im looking for is my half brother. Not even sure if he's aware that myself and my 3 sisters exist. We didnt do anything about finding him while my mother was alive as she wasnt aware that my father had dallied away from home. Plus he is only 3 months older than my youngest sister so mum would have been extremely upset. All I know is that dad was aware of his existence and that he was given my fathers first name. However his mother married and her new husband adopted him as his own. Im now 55 and my father is very old and frail, and thought that as my half brother is now in his mid forties he might want to meet his other family and maybe give us the chance for our father to meet his son before he is no longer with us as well.
Big ask and sometimes I think I was very ambitious in attempting this lol

ok thank you, looks like this is going to be much harder than I first thought as the only information ive got is his name and the names of 2 of his 3 sons. Along with his mothers first name and his now adopted fathers name. All of which I believe are living, wish I hadnt started this now or promised my father id try to find him
