Sligo / Re: Henry - Carraroe - Sligo

I just googled the name and the place and it came up under ‘This week’s death notices’.
Hope you find it. I don’t want to post the details as family are mentioned.
Is it your family?

If you search, there is a death notice in the Irish Independent, Wed 27 Apr 2005.
It includes her maiden name.
If her husband is still living, you should remove his name as it is not allowed on Rootschat.
Although, I see he may have died a few years later.

I am just posting this for you to note as yet. There may be several Josephs.
Marriage September 1871
Joseph Whitten, widower, Tandragee and Eliza Jane Winter.

This Joseph had a son, Robert, I think as this may be Joseph’s death.

Eliza Jane Whitton’s death

Joseph and Eliza Jane had daughters too.

It may not be your Joseph though.

I can’t see a marriage for Joseph and Eliza though.
Non Catholic marriages are listed from 1845 and Catholic from 1864. I think they would no5 be Catholic, is that right?
Nor can I see a death for Joseph.

In 1851, the birthplace is ‘Carvin’ and is dittoed under the birthplace of the son, William Burnett.
Mary Burnett is b ‘Monagin’ (Monaghan probably)

1871 3892/101/36
Esther Marsh b Monaghan.

Maybe a connection to Mary Burnett.

Do you have her father’s name and occupation from the marriage certificate?

Is this your family?
1861 2781/118/39
Joseph and Esther with children John and Joseph?

There is an Esther Dale in 1851 2199/565/19, Wigan

Esther Dale, 18 yrs b ‘Carvin’, Ireland (presumably Cavan)
David Dale, 25 yrs, visitor, also
He is unmarried but Esther is down as ‘wife’.
In the household of William Burnett.

I think you will have to contact them rather than find anything online.

Do you have a father’s name from the marriage?
